1987 Thunderbird Turbo Couple that was orginally owned by the son of the local Ford Dealer and purchased new and only changed hands in the last few years to a few different owners who have driven it summers only. The mileage on the odometer is not correct according to my inspection machine when I inspected the car last year. NYS is telling me the car has 80 some thousand and the odometer reads 190000. I am listing the car as a TMU (True Mileage Unknown). The owner subsequent to the dealer's son removed the body side moldings and cut the front bumper cover and painted the car metallic black. Frankly the paint job is horrible. The body is rust free from top to bottom. The tires are new, the brakes are new the car runs and drives like a dream and is extremely fast as it warms up I dectect a bit of an issue with the idle air control valve but nothing that would prevent it from being driven to your location.. The interior is complete and in very good condition with the exception of the driver door interior panel which has been removed and reinstalled by an amateur. Most of the parts are there but I would look of a new trim panel for the door. The window on the door works but is touchy and easily comes off the clamps on the regulator. If you help it up and down it can be opened and closed but will need to be repaired. Glass is all good, Original radio has been replaced. Right front fender is dented and can be repaired or replaced when the car is in paint. Retail on this car in good to excellent condition is about 6K. Deduct for the repaint and repair work, this car is still worth between 2 and 3 thousand. I am selling this for my customer at no reserved starting at $999. Please feel free to call me at the Garage (main line auto) 518-891-1011 with any questions you may have. Car can be driven home without problem. Clean NYS Title with no liens in hand.

Ken Block's Gymkhana 8 to feature Dubai Police cars?
Tue, Feb 23 2016Yesterday we showed you the shiny Ford Fiesta that Ken Block will slide, spin, and hoon through the next Gymkhana video. In case the image above isn't clear, that video will drop at midnight EST on February 30th on the Ford Performance YouTube channel. We don't know all the entire premise of the video yet, but this Tweet from the man himself reveals that the video will be set in Dubai. Block is standing on the Fiesta we saw yesterday, and arrayed behind him are a handful of those famous Dubai Police cars you're probably familiar with. The force has a fleet of sportscars and supercars, and the purpose is outreach and goodwill among its citizenry, not necessarily the pursuit of criminals. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. From left to right, we can see a Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 911, what looks to be a Nissan GT-R obscured by Block's Fiesta, a McLaren (likely a 650S), Ford Mustang, and a Ferrari 599 of some ilk. Will they take part? Maybe Block will try and run from what might be the most horsepower-intensive police fleet in the world. We'll have answers (and a few minutes of pure Block hooniganism) in a few days. Related Video:
Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
Lincoln recycling tree fibers into new MKX armrest
Thu, Feb 27 2014Want to hug a tree, or at least a really small part of one. Then set your arm down on one of those armrests in the 2014 Lincoln MKX crossover. The US automaker is working with Weyerhaeuser and Johnson Controls on a tree-based, cellulose-reinforced polypropylene material used in the component that connects the armrest to the floor console, Wards Auto says. With properties similar to plastic, the tree-based material replaces fiberglass and is about six percent lighter. No big deal for now, but if the material starts getting used for things like battery trays and interior storage covers, that loss in weight may eventually start adding up enough to boost fuel economy a bit, providing a green double bonus. Lincoln parent Ford, which isn't saying how much more (or less?) it costs to use the new material, established its Biomaterials and Plastics Research team in 2001. In 2007, the company began using soy-based foam in car seats used for models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Mustang and has since broadened biomaterials use to components like floormats and cupholder inserts. Ford also used recycled plastic bottles from the 2012 North America International Auto Show for seats in the Focus Electric.
