Selling my 66 Thunderbird. This is a No reserve auction so bid to win! I got this car from a friend with a signed title and told it's registered as NON OP. The reason I am selling is because I have far to many projects and would like to see someone get it on the road since I don't have the time. As you can see in the photos someone disassembled the car and made a new wire harness for it. All the wires are labeled. There is a rebuilt 360 FE motor in the engine bay. The motor is not mounted its just sitting on the crossmember. The stock tranny is mounted in the car it just doesn't have a torque converter. It also comes with a complete C6 transmission. The interior is in good shape with only a few small blemishes and tiny tears. It appears that this car is complete and ready for an easy do it at home resto! There is a little bit of rust on the hood but that is the only rust I have found. There is a driver quality house of colors blue on the roof and a flat gray body. The car has been lowered and all the body trim has been shaved for that custom lowrider look. There is a true dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers all the way out back. If you have any questions please feel free to email Text or call Scott at 8O5 8O1 9541. Buyer is responsible for pick up and I can store for a reasonable amount of time for you to arrange pick up. I am located in Atascadero Ca 93422 Thanks for looking this bird is the word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings
Thu, 31 Jul 2014The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.
Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.
2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.
