1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau on 2040-cars
Franconia, New Hampshire, United States
A good looking and good driving 1966 Ford Thunderbird with those cool sequential rear turn signals. The front steering wheel moves over to the side for easy entry. Nice yellow with complementing white interior. This car has a "space age pilot" design with cockpit features such as lights on the ceiling, pull handles for air over the console and a red bar that moves across the dash for the speedometer. The back seat wraps around the rear in a unique design not found in current cars. The mileage does not appear correct because the car doesn't show wear consistent with 127,000 miles, but it is certainly over 27,000. It runs great and is an enjoyable driver. The Landau style has no back window for privacy and a distinctive design feature. New Hampshire does not issue titles for cars older than 25 years so the title was entered as clear. On Jul-15-14 at 11:06:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Every effort was made to accurately describe the car and its condition. I own several cars and am presently selling 4 at the same time from my collection - cars that I don't think I will ever get time to restore. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ASK ALL QUESTIONS about anything - condition, issues, anything because ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If you have any doubt, please hire someone to examine the car for you. There are services available for you to have pre-purchase inspections. On Jul-15-14 at 13:36:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Edit: Additionally, as shown in the photos above, the driver's side rear quarter panel has some rust - bubbles and some around wheel opening. On Jul-16-14 at 05:05:31 PDT, seller added the following information: LOW RESERVE The reserve is set to sell - its about half of what I paid for the car and about a third of what I have into it. I am downsizing my collection, so 4 cars have to go and if you search eBay you'll see the others for sale too. On Jul-17-14 at 09:06:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Check out the wrap around back seat - you don't see that cool design feature in new cars. |

Ford going bonkers at SEMA with 57 showcars
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Ford always shows up in force at the SEMA Show, but this year's tally of 57 custom-tuned cars, trucks and vans is more than we can ever recall the Blue Oval bringing. Ford will introduce 28 of its project vehicles in its "Dreamcase" ahead of next month's show. The first batch of eight you'll find here with the remaining vehicles trickling into public view over the next couple of weeks.
This first group of cars includes a Fiesta, four Fiesta ST hatchbacks and a trio of Mustang show cars styled and tuned to varying degrees all by different aftermarket companies. Tanner Foust, Nitto Tire, 3dCarbon and Ice Nine Group are some of the more familiar names affixed to these cars. Our favorite so far is the Hollywood Hot Rods Mustang convertible (shown above) with its removable aluminum top and methanol-injected, 750-horsepower 5.0-liter V8.
Scroll down for all the details on these Fiestas and Mustangs, and stay tuned for more info on Ford's SEMA line, which will include custom versions of the Focus ST, Fusion, Transit Connect, F-150 and Super Duty.
Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
Feds Probe Power Steering In 938,000 Ford Midsize Cars
Mon, Oct 6 2014U.S. safety regulators are investigating complaints that the power-assisted steering can suddenly fail on three Ford midsize car models. The probe covers 938,000 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ cars from the 2010 through 2012 model years, as well as the 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received 508 complaints alleging that the cars lost power-assisted steering, causing increased steering effort. Four complaints say the problem caused crashes, but no injuries were reported. The agency says in documents posted Monday on its website that in many cases, a warning message appeared as the failure happened. Restarting the car corrected the problem in some cases, but the problem returned in others. The agency says it will check the scope and frequency of a problem. It could seek a recall. Ford says it's cooperating with the probe. Shares of Ford Motor Co. rose 6 cents to $14.65 in morning trading Monday. Its shares are down 14 percent over the past year.
