Your looking at a very nice condition 1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau edition with some minor customizations. Over all condition is very good. A great Saturday night cruiser or a great day at a car show, thats what Ive been doing with it for the past 10 years but its time for something new.
She starts easy and runs all days smooth and straight. She always turns heads and starts conversations everywhere I go.
I bought this 10 years ago from my uncle who bought it from his father so to my knowledge I'm the 3rd owner and the millage is original. In the last 10 years Ive only put about 2000 miles on it going to local car shows and an occasional date night, other then that shes kept in my garage and hasnt seen rain or salty roads since Ive owned it.
It runs smooth and consistent every time I take it out and  it even has a fair amount of power and breaks the tires loose on occasion. Shes heavy but still has a lot of power left in the big 390.

If you look at the pictures you TBird buffs will notice some cosmetic differences then what a stock Landau would have. Most noticeably are the round rear windows like a 55' TBird has. The rear decorative "S" shaped stock trim was removed (I have the original trim in the trunk) and round windows from a 55' Tbird were custom installed to give it a bit of a 55' look. This is one of the coolest and most unique touches that this car has and Ive never seen that done on any other bird. You will also notice the absence of the fender skirts on the rear wells that most models of this year had. This car was made with the trim package instead if the skirts,a rare option on this year. Those are not the original hub cabs either (I have the original hubcaps in the trunk). I believe these hubcaps are from a 1990 Thunderbird but they work so well why change it  back.
Some other mechanical upgrades have been made to make it more "drivable" on a regular basis and some just for maintenance purposes.
*Stock points were removed and replaced with a MSD ignition.
*Stock 2 barrel carb was replaced with Holly 4 Barrel carb.
*Dual exhaust all the way back with chrome tips.
*Stock single piston calipers were removed and replaced with Mustang 2 piston calipers.
*Gas lines and brake lines were replaced.
*Front end ball joints and bushings were replaced.
*paint was resprayed at some point. original color.

THIS IS A NON AC CAR but has every other option. POWER EVERYTHING including power seats and side tilt steering wheel.

This car isnt perfect and I will list its problems to the best of my ability.
*the heater coil is blown out so theres no heat. I only drive the car in the summer so this was never a problem. the heater coil was bypassed to avoid leaking into the cabin.
*the floorboards are starting to rot out and have a small hole and will probably need to be replaced to make this care perfect.
*The radiator has a very small leak somewhere but usually isnt an issue. I just check the level and add whatever is missing. Usually about a cup worth if you drive it all weekend. MINOR
*some minor dings and scratches on the surface but the body and paint are in good condition.
*minor oil leak (usually a few drops in the garage floor from when it sits for a while. VERY MINOR
*Stock clock stopped working
*Window weather stripping is dry rotted and needs to be replaced for cosmetic purposes.
*the door panels are a bit weathered and cracked
*some minor pitting of chrome parts but this is expected from a 50 year old car.

Other then what I listed everything works perfectly. All Guages and bells and whistles still work. Shes a buy and drive home kind of car. Runs and Drives perfect!!!

I CAN SEND MORE PICTURES FOR SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!!!

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

Ford picks Fiesta ST, Transit Connect as this year's SEMA darlings

Sat, 02 Feb 2013

SEMA is more than nine months away, but the reveille bugle for the show has just sounded with Ford's call to aftermarket companies for its project-vehicle program. The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and 2014 Transit Connect van and wagon are the cars The Blue Oval wants to feature, but applicants can submit project vehicles for any product except the GT500, the Raptor, or anything from Lincoln.
Submissions must be completed in two parts, the first being an email to Ford with an overview of the project, like vehicle theme, promotional plan and location display. The second part must be mailed in on company letterhead and gets down to the nuts and bolts of the vision and the provision of company bona fides. The complete proposal is due on March 1, winners will be notified by May 1. Click the link below to get all the details, and for show attendees, get ready to see some funky Fiestas and wild shaggin' wagons in Las Vegas come November.

Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?

Fri, May 27 2016

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
