Hello and thanks for looking. Up for auction is my 1966 Ford Thunderbird, Landau 2dr. It has the V8 390. This car does run and drive. The tires are in bad shape and would need to be replaced before driving. Please refer to the pictures for an accurate visual of the condition of this Tbird. This Tbird is in need of some restoration and good mechanical work. It's definitely a car that can be restored and there aren't any major issues with the car, just needs time. I purchased this vehicle in hopes to restore with my father, however, he is retired and I am working and we can not spend the time on it that we need. The car does start and run and is drivable, but I wouldn't drive it long distances as it needs new brakes. The car came from Michigan with it's original title. The gentleman I purchased is from did not register it while he owned it due to drivers license issues. Therefore, the buyer of this tbird would need to look into how to get the car titled in their name with the paperwork that I have. I have not looked into this so I don't have any information to offer. I do have two titles for the car, but I never registered it in my name. Again, this would be a project car in need of restoration. It does start, drive and run, but given the condition, I wouldn't drive it far. Those loony Brits at Top Gear have named their Car of the Year, and if you're thinking it's the McLaren P1, Jaguar F-Type, Land Rover Range Rover Sport or Rolls-Royce Wraith, we're sorry to inform you that none of those Anglo automobiles earned the crown. In fact, the winner of Top Gear's most prestigious award is quite the surprise.
Of course, those cars weren't without their own awards. The P1 was the top hypercar (sorry, Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari), while the F-Type netted best convertible and the Range Rover Sport was voted SUV of the Year. Other honorable mentions included the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black and S-Class, the Porsche 911 GT3, the BMW i3 and the Ferrari 458 Speciale. The winner, though, wasn't even a high-dollar supercar. It was the Ford Fiesta ST.
Yes, the Fiesta ST beat out some off-the-wall cars like the revolutionary Volkswagen XL1 and the bonkers Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, not to mention all the cars we listed above, to take the title of Top Gear Car of the Year. And if you've driven one, you'll completely understand why.

Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber

There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle Â– in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI Â– inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center Â– Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it Â– scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond.
