1962 Ford Thunderbird

Take a look at this amazing 1962 Ford Thunderbird M Series Convertible, brought to you by CARuso Classic Cars. This beauty is a very nice and super rare. This car is claimed to be one of 14 convertibles built in this configuration with the M code, 340 horsepower engine, not built as a Factory Sports Roadster. Most of these Tri-power cars were built as Sports Roadsters. This car was not, making it a very rare car. Only five serial # correct have been located to date.  This gem is an older restoration and is in excellent condition.  The current owner is the second owner and has had the car since 1971.

<!- The car has the correct # carbs and manifold, correct engine and trans with the special control valve for the M series.

<!- It also has the correct chrome linkage and valve covers, surge tank, dipstick and master cyl. cap.

<!- The engine runs strong and the trans works great as I have driven this car across the U.S.A. twice.

<!- This car exterior is the correct Silver Mink in color; code G, with a brand new, correct, silver mink color interior, in the summer of 2013. Most of the silver mink colored cars had black interiors.

<!- This car has working air conditioning, very rare in a convertible for the times.

<!- Dual power seats and an aftermarket cassette deck. A factory 1963 AM/FM goes with the car.

<!- This car has a factory tonneau cover with perfect headrests. This is not a reproduction cover (this was a dealer add on option, This car was not built as a factory sports roadster),

<!- Additional bonus features of this car:Power steering, power brakes, swing away steering wheel, fender skirts and radial tires. Car comes with the factory gate release invoice for the car.Car also has an aftermarket cruise control, completely hidden, and power door locks, also completely hidden. Owner has boxes of trophies that have been won with this car over the years. The front and rear carb's have block of plates for mileage sake. Owner has rebuild kits for the 3 carb's if desired. There are plenty of these cars that have been restored to be like this one. But only very few exist with all the correct parts and the correct V.I.N. numbers to make this car so special. Car appraised for $79000.00 *145 total "M" 340 horsepower vehicles \built in 1962 *120 of those were factory Sports Roadsters leaving the remaining 25 to be,

  Hardtops, Landaus, and Convertibles.

Saab-powered Ford is the most unlikely drift car we've seen

Tue, Jan 19 2016

Yes, you read that headline correctly. It's supposed to be a Saab-powered Ford, and not the other way around (although we fully support the notion of a Sonnet with a Flathead V8). Apparently, some lunatic in the UK took an ass-less 1953 Ford Anglia, paired it with a turbocharged Saab engine, and tuned the entire thing to go drifting. We like it. Called Urchfab, it's the subject of Carfection's (the blokes formerly known as XCar) latest video. Aside from looking like an extra from the British version of Mad Max, it has a problem with grip, in that there's just too much of it. This car is a fabber's dream, as we get to see its unnamed owner fashion new bits and bobs for the suspension before having an unfortunate encounter with a wall at Castle Combe. You can check out the full video up at the top of the page for a closer look at this monstrous Anglia. Related Video:

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.
