One family owned until now, 1957 T Bird. Classic "ran and drove fine when parked" as per son's description. Last ran about 9 years ago. Father passed away about then, I bought it from his widow.

Car was stored in a heated garage but is never the less weathered. Very restorable though. Might be fun for some to just get it going and drive as is, the interior is not really that bad.

    42,863 original miles

Body has rust in quarters and rockers. Driver side rocker is toast, passenger side less so. Floors and trunk are solid with relatively nice original paint. Frame is solid. Rest of the body is pretty clean. Passenger front fender needs a bit of massaging due to a hit on the front corner, easy to straighten with a bit of talent. All shut lines on the doors, hood and trunk are good.

Trim is all there, bumpers not beat up. Chrome is all weathered but not seriously rusty. Straight forward replate if wanted.

    Glass is good

Headliner pretty nice with one about 1 inch tear. See pic

Convertible frame included, original top is shot.

I gave the interior a quick wipe down and vacuum. For a restored car it would never do but I could live with it in a driver. See the pics. I believe it's all original. The "turned metal" trim is still pretty nice. Gauges look good, finish all in all still not bad for being all original. Some heater components appear to be missing, core is there, and I do have some loose parts included with the car, including new tail light lenses.

The old add on tach pictured is not included in this sale, a buddy of mine begged me for it. Car has a factory tach anyways.

Engine was/is not stuck. I was able to nudge it by hand using the fan blade. I then pulled the plugs, shot in some oil, and cranked it over a bit. Put plugs back in, cranked it a bit. Obviously has compression, but alas no spark. I didn't want to put fuel into the possibly dirty tank anyways, and didn't make anymore effort to fire it up.

The headlights work, turn lights work, heater fan works (2 speeds) and amazingly, to me at least, the radio works. Wipers are not. Car came with new tail light lenses in boxes. See pic.

Brakes are not working, car rolls fine.

So, there it is, the proverbial Diamond in the Rough!

Personal inspection is welcome, call me, Doug 937 231 0193

    Thanks for looking!

I'm sorry a few of the photos I meant to post here got left out and now I cannot ad them. I had such a hard time getting ebay to work, it blocked putting up photos several times, I just got distracted from my intent. I do have pictures of the convertible frame, tail light lenses, and more. If wanted drop me an email and I will forward them.

Ladies Love It: Ford Fiesta wins Womens World Car of the Year

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

It's official: A panel of female automotive writers has chosen the Ford Fiesta 1.0-liter EcoBoost as the Womens World Car of the Year, and it beat tough competition like the Mazda CX-5, Range Rover and Porsche Boxster S for the overall top spot.
The CX-5 and Range Rover won the SUV and Luxury Car categories, respectively, and the Boxster S laid claim to the Sports Car category, beating the runner up Audi RS5 and third place Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ (or Scion FR-S). The Audi Allroad was named the Family car of the year.
The panel consisted of 18 female automotive writers from around the world tasked with picking the best car in each of eight categories, including top vehicle overall, using criteria that women utilize when shopping for a car. That includes safety, value-for-money, aesthetic appearance, storage space, child-friendliness, ease-of-driving, color, sex appeal and environmental footprint.

2015 Fisker-Galpin Rocket Quick Spin [w/video]

Fri, Aug 21 2015

There is no shortage of fast Mustangs these days. Roush and Saleen will tune your ordinary 'Stang into something really special. Ford itself offers hot coupes like the new Shelby GT350. Don't even get me started on the endless aftermarket catalogs full of bolt-on whats-its and performance upgrades. Standing out within the huge crowd of tuned Mustangs is hard to do. But you'll definitely notice this one. "I always wanted to do a Mustang," Henrik Fisker told me as we walked toward his latest creation, the Rocket, parked outside the Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA. The man knows a thing or two about design, after all. He penned the BMW Z8, as well as the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage. But this Rocket is, well, ugly. The rear end isn't totally terrible, and those 21-inch wheels are sort of cool, but taken as a whole, it looks like it swallowed something it doesn't like the taste of. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder – or perhaps, the creator – so we'll let Mr. Fisker explain why the car looks the way it does. See the video below for his brief design walkaround. If you can get past the looks, there's a world of performance to unleash, thanks to the boys at Galpin Auto Sports – the same folks responsible for the GTR1 I drove last year. The Mustang's 5.0-liter V8 gets a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger that improves output to 725 horsepower (the torque figure isn't available), and the car's suspension has been thoroughly reworked to help put all that grunt to the ground. It's very good, yet very familiar. Let me explain. Driving Notes Like the stock Mustang, it's really easy to drive. The car fires up with a growl, you move the shifter into first gear, and the action of engagement is as solid as it is in the normal 5.0-liter car. Both the clutch and throttle have a progressive action, so it's super easy to launch the Rocket (sorry). Once you get going, there's a ton of power to unleash. It doesn't smack you in the face right up front, though – the power delivery is smooth and linear. Easy to manage, too, thanks to that slick six-speed manual transmission. Credit Ford (and Getrag) for making a manual that's able to handle so much extra grunt. That said, the Rocket feels like your typical fast Mustang. It goes like hell in a straight line and there isn't a ton of steering feel. Galpin retuned the electronic power-assisted steering, but it's still too light considering the added power of the car.

Ford's Simple Suit Makes You Feel Like A Drunk Driver

Tue, Mar 25 2014

We've all heard about the dangers of drunk driving for practically our entire lives. Whether it's from PSAs on TV or lectures in school, no one can claim ignorance of drunk driving being extremely dangerous. However, that doesn't prevent some people from still doing it. Ford is trying to take the safety message directly to young drivers with a special suit that allows them to simulate driving under the influence. It is all part of Ford's Driving Skills for Life program that gives free driving education to young people. The program is meant to "train kids in skills they don't learn in driver's ed," said Kelli Felker, Ford Safety Communications Manager, to Autoblog. The drivers don a few items to impair their senses and make them off-balance to simulate having a few too many drinks and then go out on a closed course with an instructor to see the effects. Felker said that the suit is a new part of the program, and Ford just received the outfit in the US. It will be incorporated into the training here in the late spring or early summer. Scroll down to see the effect it has on drivers in Europe. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
