1955 Thunderbird Convertible W/ Hard Top, Texas Car, Solid Body on 2040-cars
Omaha, Nebraska, United States
RE-LISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BUYER. THIS LITTLE BIRD IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. ALWAYS STORED IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED SPACE. AS PHOTOS EXHIBIT PAINT HAS EXCELLENT SHINE, CUSTOM INTERIOR SHOWS AS NEW! GOOD QUALITY HARD TOP WITH WHITE LINER. MECHANICALLY THE CAR DRIVES WONDERFULLY. UPGRADED RADIO, BUT THE ORIGINAL RADIO GOES WITH THE CAR & WORKED WHEN IT CAME OUT. 12 VOLT CONVERSION, TELESCOPIC STEERING WHEEL, ALL GUAGES AND DASH COMPONENTS WORK. SOLID UNDERCARRIAGE. THIS ONE HAS NOT BEEN CUT UP WITH NO REPLACEMENT BODY PANELS AND NO VISIBLE RUST. THIS IS A NATIVE TEXAS CAR THAT HAS BEEN STORED, AND HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER ELEMENTS OF SALT, ETC. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT TRACES THE OWNERSHIP BACK TO 1970 IN SAN ANTONIO, AND BELIEVED TO BE AN ORIGINAL SAN ANTONIO VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 1991 FROM A LADY IN SAN ANTONIO.. THE 1990 TEXAS SAFETY INSPECTION STICKER IS STILL ON THE WINDSHIELD (SEE PHOTOS). THE BODY WAS STRIPPED DOWN TO THE METAL AND RE-PAINTED WHEN IT WAS RESTORED, AND I HAVE PHOTOS SHOWING THE PROCESS. OLDER RESTORATION, BUT STILL PRESENTS BEAUTIFULLY SINCE ONLY 9,000 MILES SINCE IT WAS RESTORED. PHOTOS REVEAL QUALITY OF THE BODY WITH VERY LITTLE BONDO. HARD TOP IS ALSO IN GOOD SHAPE AS IS THE HEADLINER. THE ENGINE, MUNCIE 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION, AND CLUTCH HAVE APPROX. 4,000 MILES ON THEM SINCE BEING REBUILT BY A LOCALLY REPUTABLE PERFORMANCE SHOP IN 2001. ENGINE COMPARTMENT SHOWS NICELY WITH THE "ENGINE DRESS UP KIT", INCLUDING CHROME RADIATOR SHROUD AND CHROME HEATER CORE. ALL RECEIPTS AND VEHICLE HISTORY GO WITH THE CAR. THE CAR IS NOT PERFECT, BUT A VERY PRESENTABLE REPRESENTATION OF A 60 YEAR OLD VEHICLE THAT HAS BEEN LIGHTLY USED AND WELL MAINTAINED. AS WITH MOST OLDER VEHICLES, THE CAR LEAKS A LITTLE OIL. THERE IS A SCRATCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD THAT APPEARS TO BE FROM A WIPER BLADE. IT WAS THERE WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 1991. JUST NEVER HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED, AS I CONSIDERED MINOR. CAR IS SOLD "AS IS, WHERE IS". SHIPPING IS UP TO THE BUYER TO ARRANGE, AT BUYER'S COST. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY: 402-968-7900. MUST CALL ME BEFORE BIDDING IF YOU HAVE NO EBAY FEEDBACK, OR I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID. HAPPY BIDDING! |

Facelifted Ford Focus caught testing in the cold
Wed, 18 Dec 2013It's that time in the life of the Ford Focus to get a little work done - a nip-tuck here, some Botox there. Yes, Ford is testing a facelifted version of its global C-segment entry, which first hit markets in Europe and North America in May 2011.
Like the touchup on the Fiesta, expect Ford's gaping grille to make its first appearance on the Focus. Our spy photographers point out that this is likely to be a more comprehensive makeover than previous spy shots suggested, based on the additional camouflage seen here on the front and rear ends of this five-door model. New head and taillights are also likely in order, as are changes to the front and rear fascia.
The interior was also snapped and features a cleaner design with a larger central display. Other than that, it looks like some buttons have been changed, making us think most of the Focus' updates are limited to the exterior.
Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines
Mon, 27 May 2013Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.
