Up for bid is a 2 owner 2003 Ford Taurus in very good condition with an eBay vehicle check score of 65 out of 66. My father-in-law wanted to buy me and my wife a car so he got us this. He bought it and had new tires, cv axles, shocks (all 4), tie rod ends (inner & outer), ball joints, Control arms, Stabilizer bar links (front and back), and a tune up (He did all this because a mechanic he took it to said it needed to be done, I saw nothing wrong with it the first time I saw it before the repairs but the mechanic did say the engine and transmission looked great). The tires have a 20,000 mile warranty through Wal*mart and all the parts have lifetime warranties with them and we have all the receipts and they go with the car. We do not need this car as my front yard is littered with cars and my wife's grandfather has just bought a new car and giving us his old and we like it better as it has more room. So we are selling this one to give the other one a face lift. I have not driven this car much at all but what I have it is a great little car. It is currently registered and insured in NC. It has passed inspection in both NC and VA.

All the power accessories work on it with no trouble - the stereo has great reception and all the speakers work without any problems, the rear defroster works very well, all windows go up and down without a problem, power mirrors both articulate in all directions, the car does have key less entry but you will need a key fob and you can buy them on eBay for less than $7 if you bring one with you I will program it for you but you can do it yourself its very easy, The interior is in great shape with no rips or tears and the headliner is still tight to the roof of the car, the heater is hot but the A/C needs to be recharged and is the only thing I have found in need of repair, it has a smooth ride with lots of power and is a flex fuel vehicle - FFV.

Feature list: 6-Passenger Seating w/Flip-Fold Center Console, AM/FM/6 disk CD - 4 Speaker stereo, Air conditioning, Rear window defroster, Alloy Wheels, Driver and passenger door bins, Dual front vanity mirrors, Dual front impact airbags, Four wheel independent suspension, Front and Rear anti-roll bar, Front center armrest, Cigarette lighter and 12v accessory outlet, Front and rear cup holders, Illuminated entry, Panic alarm, Power Steering, Power door mirrors, Power windows, Remote key less entry, Speed control, Speed-sensing steering, Tachometer, Tilt steering wheel, Variably intermittent wipers and child seat hooks in the rear.

All in all this is a great little car and I would consider keeping it if I didn't already have 3 cars registered and on my insurance and my wife had a license but as 3 cars are more than I need to get around I hope this will make someone a very nice car.

I have more pictures and can take more of anything you like on the car. Please if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to ask. If you would prefer to talk on the phone just send me an e-mail and I can call you or give you my number which ever you like. Within 24 hours of auction closing there is a $500 deposit required and must be paid using Paypal. $150 of which is non-refundable and will go to reselling in the event buyer does not pick up the car. Thank you for looking and happy bidding.

Ford Tourneo ready for duty in Connect, Courier and Custom flavors [w/videos]

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

Ford was relatively quiet at the Geneva Motor Show, but it did take the opportunity to roll out its new family of Tourneo vans: the Courier, Connect, Grand Connect and Custom. As the passenger version of the Transit cargo vans, the new range of Tourneo models vary from the B-segment Courier up to the fullsize Custom. The Connect and Grand Connect are based on the redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect.
With an overall length just three inches longer than the Fiesta hatchback, the Tourneo Courier seats four to five passengers, and it offers a choice of three engines: the 1.0-liter EcoBoost or two small diesels. Like the 2014 Transit Connect was saw in Paris last year, the Tourneo Connect comes in a five-seat configuration while the Grand Connect can seat seven. Finally, the Tourneo Custom seats up to nine passengers, and it is available in two lengths up to 210 inches long putting it just six inches shorter than a standard-length E-Series van and about a foot longer than the Explorer.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.
