2008 FORD TAURUS SEL

THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION AND I WILL NOT SELL THIS LOCALLY UNTIL THIS AUCTION ENDS!

THIS 2008 FORD TAURUS SEL WAS PURCHASED IN JULY FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WITH 127000 ON IT AND A BAD ENGINE. I PURCHASED AN ENGINE FOR A 2010 TAURUS WITH 214 MILES ON IT. CAR HAS SINCE BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 1,200 MILES WITH NEW ENGINE. OIL WAS CHANGED AFTER DRIVEN 500 MILES.

THIS CAR IS IN BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT WITH ALL THE SEL OPTIONS, ALMOST NEW TIRES, POWER ADJUSTING BRAKE PEDAL, AUTO-OFF HEADLIGHTS, SUNROOF,  KEYLESS ENTRY, POWER HEATED MIRRORS, ETC. COMES WITH TWO SETS OF KEYS AND BOOK. HAS A FEW LITTLE SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE (SHOWN IN PICTURES) BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT IS BASICALLY A NEW CAR. THE MILEAGE ON THE BODY SEEMS LIKE NOTHING SINCE THE CAR IS IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION. BACK SEAT IS GIGANTIC AND LOOKS LIKE NO IT WAS NOT USED MUCH AT ALL. DRIVER'S FLOOR MAT COULD USE TO BE CHANGED AND IT IS AFTER ALL 5 YEARS OLD, SO IT IS NOT PERFECT. THIS CAR IS VERY SOLID AND GREAT FOR HIGHWAY DRIVING. GAS MILEAGE IS DECENT AT AROUND 20-25 MPG. SELLING ONLY BECAUSE I NEEDED IT FOR DRIVING AROUND TOWN AND THE MERCURY MILAN I JUST BOUGHT SERVES ME BETTER BEING QUICKER AND MORE AGILE.

PLEASE EMAIL FOR ANY QUESTIONS AND ANYONE LOCAL IS WELCOME TO COME TEST DRIVE IT BEFORE BUYING. LOCATED IN STROUDSBURG, PA.

WILL COME WITH ALL RECEIPTS SINCE I'VE OWNED IT, MAINLY RECEIPT FOR ENGINE ($1,200) SHOWING 214 MILES, DETAILING WORK AND RECEIPT FROM SAFELITE FOR A SMALL CHIP THAT WAS ON THE WINDSHIELD THEY FIXED.

PLEASE EMAIL FOR ADDITIONAL PICTURES OR WITH ANY QUESTIONS!

XCAR stages epic drag race between Ford GT40, GT70 and GT

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

XCAR has put together what it believes is a first - a drag race between Ford's legendary, Le Mans-winning GT40, the more recent GT supercar it inspired and the little-known GT70 rally car. The three mid-engined monsters were all built for very different purposes, and not surprisingly, they come to battle with very different powertrains.
The GT40 is powered by a thumping, naturally aspirated V8. This example, which looks like a Mark IV model, is likely powered by a 7.0-liter engine, although it's not entirely clear how much power it's putting down. The GT70, meanwhile, was Ford's response to the Lancia Stratos. Considering that the Lancia is one of the greatest rally cars in history and many of you are probably just hearing of the GT70 for the first time, you can imagine how much success Ford had with it. Only six were produced before a change in regulations doomed this mid-engined rally car.
The Ford GT, meanwhile, doesn't really need an introduction. 550 horsepower is on offer from a 5.4-liter, supercharged V8, which keeps the GT competitive even against more modern supercars. 60 miles per hour arrives in well under four seconds while the top speed sits at 212 mph. Not bad for a car that went out of production in 2006.

This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.
