I am the original owner of this 2004 Ford Taurus SEL. I have both sets of the original keys, all paperwork from the dealer that came with the new purchase, as well as a binder of all maintenance that has been done on it. Between 2004-2012 I had the oil changed every 3K, thereafter it has been on synthetic for every 7,500 miles. I have a clean title, the car has never been smoked in or ever been in any accident.
The only reason I am selling it is because the A/C is not working and I cannot afford to fix it. Here's what needs to be replaced to fix the A/C:
- New compressor manifold tube
- Accumulator assembly
- New A/C manifold hose
Otherwise, the car operates smoothly. The following is a list of major work that has been performed on it recently:
- New Michelin X-Radial DT tires - 11/28/2008 (about 5 years ago, plenty of tread left)
- Replaced brake drums and rotors - 3/29/2011 (about 2 years ago, pads are still good)
- Replaced spark plugs, fuel filter and fuel injector - 10/13/2009 (about 4 years ago)
- Replaced oil pan gasket, trans. fluid/gasket/filter and crank sensor - 5/17/2012 (1 year ago, switched over to synthetic oil from this point on)
Cosmetically, the interior is very clean with no tears or rips in the leather seating. I have all the original floor mats also. The front and rear bumpers have some scuffs and dings, and there is rust starting to form on the rear wheel wells. Otherwise, the car looks great.
If you are interested in stopping by for a test drive or want additional pictures, please feel free to contact me. This is a local pickup only, I will not ship the car and will accept cash in-person only.
Thanks for looking!

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated
Mon, 02 Dec 2013Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights
Thu, 12 Sep 2013Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.
Focus ST diesel variant coming, just don't look for it here
Fri, 07 Mar 2014A few years back, Volkswagen made some waves when it announced the Golf GTD - a diesel-powered car that, aside from its ultra-efficient, ultra-torquey engine, was identical to the gas-powered GTI. That meant cosseting sport seats, larger wheels, sportier suspension, larger brakes and a body kit that made the GTD indistinguishable from the GTI, except for the three little letters on the back and in the grille.
Now, Ford is looking to replicate VW's success, with a diesel version of the Focus ST. According to Motor Trend, the diesel-powered ST will use a 2.0-liter, 182-horsepower four-cylinder. With an unspecified amount of torque on offer (we'd guess around 280 pound-feet), the diesel hot hatch should hit 62 miles per hour in about eight seconds.
The report, which originally comes from Auto Express, claims the ST Diesel was confirmed by Ford Chief Marketing Officer Mark Fields during this week's Geneva Motor Show. Not surprisingly, it doesn't appear there are any plans to bring a diesel-powered Focus of any kind to the US, let alone one that uses the suspension, steering and other items from the ST. Of course, if there's an official confirmation from Ford, we'll be sure to report on it.
