***PRIVATE SELLER, I AM NOT A DEALER*** I'm selling my 2002 Ford/Mercury Taurus Wagon SEL-Deluxe, which is in Mint Condition! This 2002 Ford Taurus Wagon body style has become a hard to find 8 passenger vehicle. You get the best of both worlds, roomy like an SUV but the comfortable ride of a car and with great fuel economy. The Ford Taurus Wagon drives great, it rides very nice and smooth like a new vehicle. The exterior is the original factory paint it's called Matador Red and it has a beautiful clear coat shine with no fading, no hits and/or dents on it, but just a few scratches on the rear bumper that was already there when I bought the car. The interior is the original factory gray leather with no tears or rips, the floors inside are spotless with no stains, no fading, and no rips also the original floor mats when the car was new are spotless too. You will be very pleased when you see how clean & nice the interior is for being a 2002 which still has that original clean leather smell, and it's been a NON-SMOKER vehicle. It's roomy inside for 7 people and it can hold the 8th person in the front seat since the center console folds-up and converts to a seat if needed. The engine performance is Rock solid, runs like a champ with no issues what-so-ever & no leaks plus good fuel economy (I get 21-24 City & 25-28 Highway) and the transmission is Rock solid and smooth you don't even feel it shifting & no leaks. The A/C system is Ice Cold & no leaks. The Taurus wagon is over all a solid, dependable, reliable and as good as new and ready to go anywhere in the U.S.,Canada or Mexico..!! The Taurus wagon is great for any small or large family, a retired couple, and for anyone that likes plenty of room for long trips and/or if your car-pooling. It's a great vehicle too if your putting to many miles on your current lease and/or your lease is ending soon and you want to take sometime off on car payments. (It's also a Pedal adjustment switch this feature moves the brake & gas pedal away from you or closer to you) this is only on the SEL Models.

I'm a proud US Navy Veteran served 6 years I'm not here to over sell you on this car, I'm just stating the facts of the cars condition. I'm also not here to waste your time but you will like the condition and the way it looks in-person..! I want you to be very comfortable, happy, and secure with your purchase as the car is being sold “AS-IS” with a Clean clear Title (Vin#1FAFP59U72A162915) Superb Condition with only 107K miles. My wife & I purchased this vehicle about 9-10 months ago and just sat in my garage until my F-150 lease ended and just a short time ago had the Taurus registered in Florida. We've used the Taurus on several trips to visit our second oldest son at Florida State University, and visit family & friends up in Northern Florida/Georgia. The previous owners lived in North Carolina and moved down to Miami, FL. We have kept it very clean & neat and we take great pride with our vehicles always looking & running their best. The Taurus Wagon SEL is much cleaner and mechanically reliable then other Taurus's & Sable's for sale. Again the car looks better in-person then it does in the pictures and once you see it you'll will not be disappointed and it will give you many more great years. I have maintained everything up-to date that needed to be serviced including the the 100k servicing. Just keep up with the normal services needed as all cars are required to do, basically from this point on, it's just the oil changes & tire rotations.

PLEASE NOTE: The Kelly Blue Book, NADA, & Edmund has it priced between $3,947 to $5,875 I'm asking a fair market price since the vehicle is in Superb Condition and again all the services are up-to-date as stated down below. I'm only asking $4,275.00 OBO. Including a brand new unopened pair of light gray seat covers and a new 3.5" GPS navigation system. The GPS unit & new front seat covers will stay with the car as part of the sale. The GPS unit is very simple to use and is practical to have and a must have now a days if your not familiar with the local and/or out of town area's. I have invested roughly about $1,200 on 4 new matching tires, new Ceramic brakes installed recently, including a complete full 100K service (I will explain down below). If you should have any questions you would like to ask and/or you would like to see it I live in the Hialeah-Miami Lakes area (Miami, FL). You may email me and/or call my Cell @ 305.815.2800 Christine & Hector. You are also more then welcome to bring your ASE Certified/License mechanic with you and/or take it to ASE Certified/License mechanic shop for inspection as long as it's close distance to my zip code 33014. We can set an appointment to meet for a local test drive and/or mechanic shop inspection.

Detroit 3 and UAW set for showdown over tiered wages

Mon, Mar 23 2015

This week, thousands of United Auto Workers will converge on Cobo Center in Detroit for the Special Convention on Collective Bargaining, an every-four-year event that lets members tell UAW leaders what the negotiating priorities should be during contract negotiations. This is where a lot of sand and a lot of lines start coming together in preparation for contract negotiations between the UAW and the Detroit 3 automakers, which will happen later this year. Number one on the UAW agenda is the end of the two-tier wage system created in 2007 to help the automakers get through bankruptcy; veteran workers are paid the Tier 1 rate of around $29.00 per hour, new hires are paid the Tier 2 rate of between $15 and $20 and get about half the benefits of Tier 1. Tier 2 hiring has been an undoubted success for the automakers, allowing them to keep factories in the US and hire more workers. By agreement, it is capped at a certain percentage of each automaker's workforce, and while the union's ultimate position is to get rid of the dual-scale system entirely; one leader said Ford could easily afford the $335 million it would take to convert all its workers to Tier 1 out of its $6.9 billion in 2014 North American profit, and General Motors could do the same out of the $5 billion it is handing to investors through the (admittedly forced) share buyback. Other delegates say that at the very least they'd be happy with enforcement of the current caps in the new contract. The automakers, conversely, would welcome expansion of the Tier 2 ranks. Including benefits, import automakers pay workers "in the high $40 range" per hour, according to an analyst, while Ford and GM pay about $59 in wages and benefits per hour. More Tier 2 workers on the rolls would let those two companies get labor cost parity with the competition. Fiat-Chrysler pays wages closer to the imports because of special exceptions in its UAW contract that allow unlimited Tier 2 hiring; those exceptions will end on September 14 and bring FCA into line with the other domestics, unless the new contract maintains them. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne is opposed to the two-tier system, having called it "almost offensive." One analyst says the UAW might win a sizable pay raise for Tier 2 and a small increase for Tier 1, but the keystone issue will be how the hiring matrix can help the automakers keep overall wages in line with the imports.

Watch these Australian Ford and Holden muscle cars duke it out

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Australia's Motoring has put together a little video on two of the great performance vehicles available down under - the Holden VF Commodore HSV GTS and the Ford Falcon FPV GT R-Spec. And while both FPV and the Falcon might be on their way out, there's still plenty of time for a little head-to-head comparison between the two.
The cars aren't all that well evenly matched, though. The Ford boasts a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, which the Aussies measure out at 449 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The HSV, though, with its Corvette-derived, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 is just too powerful - 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
Predictably, it doesn't end too well for the Ford. As the guys from Motoring point out, the new VF Commodore is just too new and too good, with its extra power and its adaptive dampers (GM's excellent MagnaRide). Interestingly, Motoring did point out that the Holden's electric steering is better than the Ford's hydraulic steering, which is a lot like a Porsche purist saying they prefer water-cooled engines to air cooled.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
