1997 Ford Taurus SHO. This vehicle is a great runner and has low miles for it's age. It has a lot of power with the small V-8 and is fun to drive. It has been regularly maintained by Ford dealership mechanics. Body has no dents. The ground effects are in rough shape, the rear half on both sides is missing. There is rust above the rear wheel wells as well as along the bottom where the ground effects were. The vehicle is red and shows signs of paint fade. Please remember this vehicle is 16 years old and all of the cosmetic issues are consistent with a car of that age. The vehicle runs very smoothly and quiet. It probably needs the AC to be recharged. All of the power options work as they should; the windows, sunroof, locks, steering, brakes, keyless entry, etc. It has had a recent oil change and the battery is new within the last year. The interior is in very good condition. There are some small tears in the rear seats but they are small and not bad, also a tear in the driver's side seat on the side near the door. The interior is also very clean. The radio is an AM/FM cassette player and it works as it should. There is a 6 CD changer in the trunk directly wired to the stereo that works as it should. The tires are also fairly new with a lot of tread life left. Please look at the pictures to see exact conditions as of today. It is a very reliable car and is actually a fun car to drive. If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact me through e-mail. If you are truly interested we can set up a test drive. This car is being sold as-is. The blue book value on a car in this condition at the SHO trim level is around $2600. My reserve is set WELL BELOW that price.

How and why Ford is rolling out Vignale in Europe
Wed, 09 Oct 2013
We know that Ford is positioning the new, upscale Vignale brand in Europe to fill a niche market of customers who want a bit more luxury, a lot more service and the same reliability and dependability that a non-Vignale Ford offers. But so far, we've been in the dark regarding how the Blue Oval will sell Vignale vehicles, how many of them will be created, and what the new sub-brand has in store for the future.
Gaetano Thorel, Ford's European marketing head, recently was interviewed by Automotive News and shared details about Ford Vignale. Thorel says, "The Vignale trim line will be priced like an ST model but attract a completely different type of customer." Specifically, he says it will attract customers in the upper 15 percent of the price band who don't want a performance-oriented ST model. He adds that Vignale cars will be about 10 percent more expensive than Titanium-trim cars. About 500 of Ford's European dealers will sell Vignale Fords, Thorel says, "in areas that make sense." The automaker expects 10 percent of its European sales to be Vignale cars, which equates to about 5 percent of its global sales. When asked if there are any other Vignale models planned beyond the Mondeo, Thorel said, "There is nothing written in stone yet."
Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake
Thu, 19 Sep 2013History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.
