Here's a great, dependable commuter car for you! Formerly selling under ProCarAutos (look me up) I have since branched out and now sell privately under my current username. This car is a 1993 Taurus GL. THESE ARE HER ACTUAL, ORIGINAL MILES!! She doesn't have a dent or a ding to be found on her, nearly NEW tires, a smoooooth shifting automatic transmission and was purchased by me from a dealer-was a new car trade in. Additionally, her A/C blows ICE COLD and AM/FM cassette player is in good, working order! Everything works, and I really can't say enough how BRAND NEW this car really is! The gray paint on her even shines! Beautifully clean, smoke-free cloth interior with roll up windows (who needs the extra expense of replacing window regulators anyway?) She's got an enormous, leak free trunk and no fluid leaks could be found from anywhere! Obviously garage kept for the vast majority of her life, because no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find any rust either! She even has spare keys, all of which work, and all of the original Owner's Manuals! A rare find for a great price! Just give her a bath, turn the key, and away you go for many more miles! Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally lands on Google board
Wed, 16 Jul 2014Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally often referred to the Blue Oval as a technology company when he led the automaker. Now he'll be offering guidance to a different kind of technology firm: Google.
Mulally was appointed to Google's board of directors July 9, and late Tuesday, it was announced that he will serve on the company's audit committee. The veteran executive led Ford from September 2006 until he retired in June, succeeded by Mark Fields.
While Mulally will act as a board member - rather than in a managerial role - his presence adds credibility to Google's recently announced plans to produce an autonomous car. The ambitious program calls for 100 prototypes to begin testing later this summer. Production of the car is rumored to be in collaboration with a Detroit area performance company, Roush.
Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores
Tue, 29 Apr 2014The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
