We bought this car new in June 2006 and have been the only owner of the car. It's been a great, very practical, reliable and useable car that we really hate to sell. We are selling it for our business financial reasons, otherwise would have kept it for many more years. Everything is working on the car, with the battery being replaced in May 2006 and new Pirelli P-4 All season tires were installed in December 2006. The tires are still under warranty as have only been driven about 10,000 miles with them. The car has had been serviced regularly according to schedule and we have all service records that you can inspect. The brakes were replaced recently and are in good condition. The spare tire has never been used. This is a very safe 5 star safety rated car. Both front bucket seats have power adjustments and can be tilted down. It has AWD all wheel drive which has let it drive it safely through all kinds of weather.
The car can hold up to 6 adults comfortably, with all passenger seats including front passenger seat, able to be folded down flat for a large cargo area. While car drives great and is in overall good working condition, there are minor scratches around the car's exterior and interior which are consistent with it's age and use. There is a small rust spot on roof that may have happened from a leak at a parking garage. We have included photos that show a representation of these.
Please review all of the features and options included with this car. It's loaded with cup holders and storage space. The 2nd row bucket seats flip over for easy access to the third row. There is a good amount of storage area behind the 3rd row of seats. The transmission is very smooth and car has more than enough power. Full set of controls on steering wheel, plus one can program from it the information center that also includes the speedometer. Please note that the listed mileage was as of the listing day. The actual mileage will vary as car is still being driven.
Please contact seller if you would like to see other photos. While we feel the starting auction price is very low for this car, we would consider other reasonable offers. We bought this car new and have been the only owners. We have met other Ford Freestyle owners over time and all love their car as much as we do. We consider it Ford's best kept secret as they never seemed to market or push this car. One reason is that during this time Ford also owned Volvo on whose platform this car was built on. We feel that they didn't want to steal sales away from Volvo and basically let the car sell itself.

Lincoln Continental to end after one-and-done generation?
Thu, Mar 15 2018After only 18 months on sale, the vultures of rumor have begun circling above the Lincoln Continental. Ford Authority says "sources intricately familiar with Ford Motor Company's future product plans" for the domestic luxury brand say the Continental won't get another chance at life after this generation. Those sources didn't detail Ford's reasons for dispatching the executioner on another sad task, but if this is true, even the reasons we can only guess make enough sense to justify the move. The Continental launched into a crossover mania still mushrooming in strength like some Marvel villain, the equivalent of a new dinosaur hatching a few months before the Chicxulub Impact Event. In 18 months, the Continental sold 18,846 units, 12,012 of those sales happening in 2017. In the U.S. this year, sales amounted to 1,573 units through February, about 25 percent down on the annualized monthly rate. It could be worse: The Lexus GS has found 1,009 U.S. buyers so far this year, the Acura RLX, 285. Conversely, the Cadillac XTS — yes, a fleet darling — secured 3,163 sales in the same period. And the German kingpins live in another dimension, with BMW scooting 5,641 5 Series models off dealer lots, and the Mercedes E-Class boasting 8,411 sales of all three variants. Even the much more expensive and much more profitable Lincoln Navigator rang up 2,351 sales in the first 60 days of 2018. That's disheartening reading, especially after Ford reportedly spent more than $1 billion to bring the Continental to market. Sedan segment woes look to have killed the Continental's platform siblings, too, making the Lincoln's demise simply part of the cull. The CD4 architecture also underpins the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ. Ford canceled the Fusion redesign and won't commit to making either vehicle after 2020. Lincoln's passenger car sales declined more than 30 percent last month; meanwhile, Lincoln needs to spend its money on the crossovers that are selling, and investment in the coming three-row Aviator that will replace the MKT. Ford has a CD6 platform in development that suits front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive vehicles. Under previous CEO Mark Fields, a new Fusion, Mustang, and MKZ would ride on the CD6, as well as the new Explorer and a Lincoln brother. Those plans left with the previous administration, and company sources told both Ford Authority and The Truth About Cars not to expect a Continental revival on that architecture. Related Video:

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey
Wed, 05 Feb 2014According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.
