Up for Auction is a:
My Freestyle is a 2006 Limited AWD and is loaded with virtually every option available including: DVD, Navigation (2009 Nav Disc), front, side full length air bags, driver and passenger seat airbags. 7 passenger seating, rear heat/air, sliding moonroof and much more. I have a copy of the original window sticker which I can email. THIS IS A NON SMKING CAR.
What I've done to her: I've changed her oil every 4500-5000 miles using Motorcraft 5W20 Synthetic Blend and Motorcraft Filters, Air Filter, Front Lower Left and Right Control Arms, Sway Bar end Links, Tuned up at 120,000 miles with Motorcraft plugs, Front brakes and rotors, rear brakes. I also installed a cabin air filter as discussed in one of the blogs. She has 147,000 miles and if you look into the oil fill port on top of the engine, the timing chain shines. She also has a new radiator and antifreeze change, PS fluid change from mineral to Synthetic Mobil 1 ATF. The transaxle roll resister and the lower front transmission are brand new. The most important service on this vehicle is the CVT Fluid. The CVT has been serviced in accordance with the maintainance log at 60,000 and 120,000 miles. This included draining and replacing the fluid and the high pressure filter as well as the filter in the bottom pan. I have marked the service date and mileage in the engine compartment. As for oil changes, I follow the electronic reminder in the dash and change when the reminder gets to 20% oil life left. The Oil was changed today (09/01/2013).
Knock on wood, she has never had an engine code or the wrench light come on and has passed NY State Inspection every year since I purchased her in 2008.
We just came back from three weeks in Florida and the air blows cold and the temperature control panel works great. She got 26-27mpg on the highway and has averaged the usual 17-18mpg around town. (We live in NYC).
What I have planned for the near future: I maintain her with only Genuine Ford Parts and was purchasing front shocks. I have the Motorcraft Strut Mounts for the front and a Monroe Sensormatic 72260 for the Left Front. Right shock is (Monroe 72259) is on its way. I also have a new serpentine belt to go on. I purchased but never installed two rear sway bar end links but the are included. Also have but haven't installed a new heated seat pads in the drivers seat. If I have good weather, I will install the new shocks or if the car sells, they will be included with the car as well as the uper strut mounts.
What she will need: She will need four tires as well as an alignment after the shocks and tires are installed. The current tires probably have another 10,000 mile left on them.
Her general condition: There is one cart ding hardly noticable on the drivers door. A stone chip in the front windshield has been repaired by Saflite. There is a very slight verticle dent in the rear bumper cover on the right side. There is no rust anywhere on the car. All these items will be included in the additional photos I am going to post. We are expected to have horrible weather over the next two days and once it has passed, I will take them.
She is a strong runner and the AWD works perfectly. There have not been any accidents with this car and she has not been abused whatsoever. She handles the snow really well where others don't. There has been only one other owner and they maintained the vehicle through their Ford Dealer. I have that record available.
I do have the NY Title with a Lien against her which this sale will satisfy. I will forward the title to the new owner via express mail along with a bill of sale. Also, by NY Law, the lienholder must send the Lien Release within 20 days which I will also forward via USPS Express Mail. Having a Lien will not prevent you from registering the car in your name. It only means that the lien will follow to your state title until the release is received and your state will then issue a clear title.
The purchaser is responsible for picking up the car or arranging for shipping. However, I will deliver the car within 50 miles of Staten Island once full payment is received.

Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?
Wed, 30 Oct 2013A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.
2014 Ford Fiesta gets fuel economy bump to 41 mpg
Fri, 07 Jun 2013The 2014 Ford Fiesta is in showrooms now with refreshed styling and new performance ST model, but it's what isn't yet available that should help the Fiesta stand out from the growing crowd of subcompacts. Aside from the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost model coming later this year, Ford recently told us that a new Fiesta SFE trim level is on the way that should put the updated Fiesta at the top of its class for fuel economy.
The new Fiesta SFE will hit an estimated 41 miles per gallon on the highway when equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission. The current listing on fueleconomy.gov shows the 2014 Fiesta getting up to 29 mpg city and 39 highway, but the SFE will get minor aero tuning and a recalibrated engine controller to help bump the highway figure past rivals like the Chevrolet Sonic and Nissan Versa - both of which top out at 40-mpg highway. There's still no word as to when the small 1.0-liter EcoBoost will show in the US, but Ford has indicated that engine's fuel economy isn't expected to be released until October.
249 reasons you want to go to Goodwood Revival
Sat, Sep 16 2023At its most basic, Goodwood Revival is a long weekend worth of car races featuring cars made before 1970. There are lots of those, though, including some pretty great ones all over the world. But nothing is like Goodwood Revival because it's so much more than "just" vintage car racing. First, you have to look the part. Attendees are strongly encouraged to dress in period clothing from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, with a strict dress code enforced should you want to enter the paddock. The goal is to create a more authentic atmosphere to match the cars and the meticulously restored and recreated paddocks, grandstands and other facilities of the reborn Goodwood circuit. Now, the dress code was relaxed this year since the Saturday was literally the hottest Sept. 9 on record in that part of England, and the organizers didn't want people dropping dead because they needed to wear an ascot. Some people definitely took the "relaxed" bit too far, but there was still plenty of atmosphere maintained. It really does make a big difference, as those "relaxed" individuals were often akin to seeing a Starbucks cup in a scene from "Game of Thrones." You can see what I came up with below along with former Autoblog editor Reese Counts and various other Goodwood attendees. Second, there's the parking lot. But I'll let this entire separate post detail that. Third, there's the enormous carnival-like area featuring vintage-looking rides and various boutiques. Both of those are on the outside portion of the track, and honestly, you could easily just spend your entire day in the parking lot and carnival/shopping area without even crossing over into the circuit area. There you'll find more shops, food and drink opportunities, plus obviously, race car paddocks and the track itself. Fourth, there are airplanes! I heard there are fewer than in the past, but they're there and they're cool. The Goodwood circuit started out life as the perimeter road around the World War II airfield RAF Westhampnett. Fifth, with all of the above, Goodwood Revival really is fun for the whole family. It isn't just a bunch of old guys sitting around in lawn chairs. There are plenty of women and adorably dressed children, including babies in vintage prams. It's also not an event that's exclusively for the uber rich, even if they are certainly in full force given who has the sort of money needed to go vintage racing.
