2005 Ford Ranger Xlt Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 3.0l Cheap No Reserve Affordable on 2040-cars
New Church, Virginia, United States
Up for auction is a 2005 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab pickup with 157,039 miles. We traded this truck in on a Dodge Nitro and did not realize the rust issues on the truck. This extended cab is not a 4 door extended cab, just a 2 door extended cab. White in color, this truck was used for work, and it shows. It has dings and dents on the top of the bed rails and a few on the sides of the bed. The tailgate has been replaced, as it is yellow in color and the rest of the truck is white. There is a rust issue on the passenger bed side behind the rear wheel. There is also rust issues with the rear of the frame of this truck. Not sure what it was used for in its past life, but I venture to guess it lived some of its life working with salt water. The rear portion where the rear bumper bolts to the frame has rusted off and the replacement bumper has steel plates that bolt to the bumper and bolt to the frame. I have taken pictures the best I can of it. This was the reason we did not go any further with our plans to retail the truck. Inside the seats are fine, there is white dog hair everywhere, but the seats slide back and forth, and the recline mechanisms work just fine. The rear jump seats I did not fold out, but they are there. I cannot believe anyone would be comfortable in them anyway. The radio is a plain jane AM/FM radio, the windows are manual (have to crank them), the door locks are manual, the cruise control does work, the truck does have a/c and does blow cold. The owners manual is in the glove box for late night reading. I started this truck with our jump box, I have included a video. We had to use the jump box because the truck has been sitting for the good part of a month. Once I let the truck run, it fired back up once I turned it off. I personally drove this truck 35 miles in each direction to drop off and a week later to pickup a rebuilt transmission. It runs and drives very well. Like I said before, we were planning on retailing this truck until we found the rust issues. Looks like the previous owner had installed new tires just before they traded it in, because the tires look great. The factory steel wheels have the factory center caps with them also. The spare is in the bed of the truck, probably because it will not fit underneath with the relocated rear bumper. This truck is being sold as-is with no warranties. If you do not understand this, please ask. If you are interested in this truck, I suggest you stop by our dealership and look at it yourself. I have described it to the best of my ability, and I am willing to take more pictures if needed. Please ask any and all questions before the auction ends, and I will do my best to answer them. Payment is cash, certified check, or MasterCard/Visa. A deposit is required with in 48 hours of auction end time. Vehicle can remain on our lot for 14 days, after that storage will occur at $10.00 a day. Once payment is made, you will be given a Buyer's Order and the Title to the truck. We can provide temporary tags for an extra fee as long as you have liability insurance on the truck. We have a $199.00 processing fee that will be added to your final bid, please be aware of this!! You are buying this Ranger in the state of Virginia, therefore Virginia state law will prevail. Thanks for looking!! If you have any questions, please ask!!!! |

A 1985 Ford Escort for $915,000? If it was owned by Princess Diana
Sun, Sep 3 2023What makes a used car worth more than the car itself? If it was owned by John Lennon. Or Muhammad Ali. Michael Schumacher, perhaps, or Stirling Moss. This year’s edition from the Hagerty organization of its “Power List” makes for amusing reading even if youÂ’re not on it. But you can make believe that you are. Essentially, the list, which was launched only last year, tracks the impact of celebrity ownership of a vehicle on its value, as measured by its worth at auction. Nearly 400 sales of celebrity cars and bikes have been analyzed from around the world by Hagerty using market data and “expert” analytics. Hagerty is aware, certainly, that famous folks — from royalty, sports, movies and music — grab gobs of attention from ordinary people. ThatÂ’s why the 2023 Power List comprises these categories: Art Cars, Racing Drivers, Movies and TV, Musicians, Royalty, Screen Stars, Sporting Icons. But you don't have to be a rock star or a F1 pilot to get listed: Princess Diana, besides an Escort Turbo RS that she owned between 1985 and 1988, numbered a convertible 1994 Audi 80 Cabriolet and a Jaguar XJS Cabriolet among her rides. HereÂ’s a look at some of the more notable entries: Racing driver category: In pole position was an unlikely titleholder, a 1976 Ford Bronco. This was the car bought new by legendary Canadian Formula 1 driver Gilles Villeneuve and untouched since his death; it sold at the Aguttes auction in Paris last December for $148,000, a huge 210% increase over the $47,800 that Hagerty would value a regular example in the same condition. Just a note: The list doesnÂ’t include race cars, only vehicles kept privately by the drivers. Musicians: A 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow had been Freddie MercuryÂ’s personal chauffeur-driven transport from 1979 until his death in 1991. Without celebrity ownership, Hagerty would value the Silver Shadow at a lowly $9,500, a car that would take a lot of time, effort and money to restore properly. But add in MercuryÂ’s aura and bids ended at $362,500. “ItÂ’s no surprise that MercuryÂ’s car dominated our Musicians list on the 2023 Hagerty Power List,” the company said. Movies and TV: For those readers now emerging from hibernation since 1968, the news is that the historic Highland Green Mustang from “Bullitt” remains at the top of the Power List for the second year running.
Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.
Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.
