2004 Ford Ranger Truck Edge Model 4-door Super Cab Charcoal Metallic Gray V6 on 2040-cars
Memphis, Tennessee, United States
Really good looking truck anyone would be proud to own and drive down the street in. 3.0 V6 with lots of get-up-and-go. This truck is used, but far from used-up! Just take a good look at the pictures. The paint is a dark charcoal or gun-metal with metallic flakes. The Ford Edge, step-side package trucks are lifted to look more like a 4X4, but it is a 2 wheel drive, so it gets better gas mileage. It has been well taken care of and shows no signs of slowing down. It also has the factory Premium Pioneer audio system with a sub-woofer built into the front console (also factory) and 6 disk CD changer, cloth interior, 3 inch lift, tow package and more! Seriously, if you need a vehicle this one has been great and I'm only selling it because I got a new one for work. My dad purchased this truck for himself 6 years ago, and I was lucky enough to inherit it from him when I graduated from high school. The previous owner put the majority of the miles on it in the first 4 years, evidently they used it to make deliveries or something, but it has been a great truck for us and I believe it has lots of life left in it, if the buyer continues to service it. I really wish I didn't have to sell it, but I am working in construction now and I need a larger bed. The truck is running great and has no issues with shifting. No "check engine" lights on. Approximately 75% tread remaining on the tires. This truck will also be available for sale locally. NADA Clean Trade-in with mileage and options $5200. Retail over $7000. The bad- Nothing heart-stopping. The usual small dings and scratches you would expect on a truck this age and mileage. My bro backed into the bed and hit the step on the bed, so it has been repaired and repainted. The front plastic air-dam has been repainted as well. The driver side seat had a small split in the seam where you slide into the seat. My mom stitched it up and it doesn't look too bad (see photo). If you don't like it, hey, they make some nice seat covers these days. Pictures!!! We will add more/better pictures when the rain stops (been raining for 3 days and can't get good ones). |

Marchionne open to combination with Ford or GM
Fri, Mar 13 2015At the depths of the auto industry implosion, there was widely reported talk that General Motors and Chrysler would be merged into a mighty import-beating behemoth. While such notions clearly never materialized, that doesn't mean the idea is dead. In fact, FCA boss Sergio Marchionne still welcomes the idea of a partnership with either GM or Ford. He responded positively to the idea, calling it "technically feasible," when asked about it at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Automotive News reports. "There's bantering that goes on all the time," Marchionne told AN, before quashing suspicions that a plan was in the works by adding that "nothing substantive" was going on. Our favorite black sweater enthusiast isn't quite as interested in the idea of teaming with a foreign manufacturer like PSA Peugeot Citroen, or in the rumored tie-up with Volkswagen, though. That is a shame, particularly in regards to Marchionne's shut down of a partnership with the French, although it isn't necessarily surprising – FCA already consists of eight automakers, and as Sergio told AN, there's really nothing at PSA that could help the company out. What are your thoughts? Is there an obvious project or segment that would benefit from an FCA partnership with Ford or GM? Have your say in Comments. Ford to spread all-wheel drive across performance range
Tue, Feb 10 2015Car and Driver took a closer look at the all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS, Ford reps having made "broad hints" about it being applied to other performance vehicles. One spokesperson even said that he "can see this as one of those technologies of the future." That would make sense because, as C/D notes, it couldn't have been an inexpensive job to engineer the torque-vectoring unit for the Focus – one that can send 70 percent of torque to the rear wheels, and send 100 percent of that portion to either wheel if needed. C/D also clues into the system's close similarity to the AWD unit in the recently updated Range Rover Evoque, which is manufactured by Sweden's GKN Driveline. In the Evoque, torque vectoring is brake based and two electronically controlled clutches turn the Range into a front-wheel-drive crossover under 22 miles per hour. Ford wouldn't comment on the GKN Driveline connection, or even if there is one. No matter where it might come from, more performance Fords are good for every enthusiast, and we do not look an AWD, torque-vectoring gift horse in the mouth.
