2002 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 Auto Ext Cab Utiliy Cap Work(needs Transmission Repair) on 2040-cars
Statesville, North Carolina, United States
2002 Ford Ranger Extended Cab with Utility Cap.
If your Mechanically inclined then don't miss out on this Ford Ranger! Ranger is a high mileage former fleet truck with running 3.0 V6 motor. This would makes an excellent work truck for someone. The body and interior are in good condition also has new tires. Ranger runs and drives but does have some issues. Main problem is the Over Drive switch does not work and the O/D light is flashing could possibly be a Fuse, O/D switch, TCS Transmission Control Switch, O/D speed sensor. Not really sure what the problem is but the O/D light is flashing and the switch does not turn it on. The transmission shifts good and goes thru the gears fine but the over drive does not kick in at 50 mph like it should. Mechanical issues #1 Over drive not working turned off light flashing, Possibly Bad Switch, TCS, O/D Speed Sensor, Fuse #2 Air not working possible heater core/ temporarily bypassed #3 Power steering pump leaks #4 Engine Temp on dash gauge not working / temporarily bypassed #5 Trans shift needle on dash is broken #6 Oil pressure needle is stuck Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup from my address. This vehicle runs and drives if the O/D was working I would drive this truck anywhere but as it is now you would not want to drive this truck above 50 mph or on the interstate until the O/D issue has been resolved. I am not a mechanic interested buyers are encouraged to come inspect and test drive this truck in person. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me. Truck is also for sale locally so auction could end at any time. Thanks for viewing |

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII
Fri, 17 May 2013Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.
Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]
Mon, 08 Jul 2013It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively.
