This truck has been partially restored and upgraded. The paint is new, base-coat/clear-coat (original color). The original 2.3 liter 4 cylinder has been removed and replaced with a 5.0 liter V8. Engine has around 60K miles on it. Runs great! It is paired with an automatic transmission with a shift kit. The exhaust is new w/catalytic converters included. The truck has a spray-in bed-liner as well. The wheels and tires are new (20" chrome). Brakes are new. The only area that needs work right now is the interior...it is original. Ford C-Max Solar Energi takes a recharging station wherever it goes
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Companies ranging in size from small startups to major automakers have been experimenting with solar-powered charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. And, of course, people have been powering vehicles with onboard solar panels for quite some time, too. Still, Ford's new C-Max Solar Energi Concept shows the promise of a truly practical implementation of solar on a production vehicle, and it may not be as far off in the future as we had thought.
As we reported a few days ago, the Solar concept makes use of a "concentrator lens" that focuses sunlight onto the Ford's roof-mounted solar panels. The special lens follows the rays of the sun to maximize the amount of charge being fed to the batteries of the car, taking about a day to fully charge the 21-mile, all-electric range of the C-Max Energi. Ford data suggests that combination might be enough to power 75 percent of all trips made by a statistically average driver. In turn, using the sun to power a vehicle could reduce yearly C02 emissions by up to four metric tons when compared with the driver of an average gasoline-powered sedan.

Motor Trend pits Camaro 1LE vs Mustang with Performance Pack, surprises ensue
Thu, 16 Oct 2014With the 2015 Ford Mustang firmly on the scene, the inevitable comparisons with its arch rival, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro are just starting to trickle out. Over the next several months, you're likely to be inundated by every outlet's muscle car comparison, whether it be the turbocharged Ford against the V6 Chevy, a V8-powered convertible comparo or what we have here, a competition between each vehicle's performance upgrade.
Motor Trend has pitted the Camaro SS 1LE against a Mustang with the GT Performance Pack for a comprehensive series of comparisons on the test stage, street and finally, at Willow Springs with ace Randy Pobst behind the wheel. As per usual, we aren't about to spoil this one for you.
