Very Clean 1971 Ranchero on 2040-cars
Apple Valley, California, United States
This is a very clean 1971 Ford Ranchero, with 351 Cleveland V-8 and 3 speed automatic transmission. It is a fun car to drive and in runs great. The body is in good shape, with some small dings and scratches. The paint is not perfect but it still shows well, there is no rust that I can see. It has a 1970 front grille and a GT hood. It has 17" custom Mustang wheels and BF Goodrich Traction TA radials in good shape. It has lots of chrome all in fair to good shape. The interior is in very good condition, with bucket seats instead of a bench seat. The padded dash is beautiful for the age of this vehicle. The radio is an old cassette type, however I don't know if it works because I have never added speakers. I bought the car from a friend of mine in S Alabama and he told me it worked before he took the speakers out to put in new kick panels. The engine is clean and runs good, however it does leak some oil if it sits to much and not driven. It has a two barrel carborater and electronic ignition. It has the original AC that is not working at present, however my mechanic assures me it would be easy to repair. It disc brakes all around, all in good shape. Before I bought the car from my friend I saw the floor boards and there was no rust to be seen. I saw the car up on a hoist when we installed the new duel mufflers and found no indication of rust. All in all it is a very nice and sound 71 Ford Ranchero.

Ford lowers MPG ratings on six vehicles
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Ford has announced that it will be lowering the fuel economy ratings on a number of its 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles after an error was discovered in the company's internal testing data. The EPA has been notified.
Worryingly for Ford, the vast majority of the vehicles affected are hybrids, including the C-Max, Fusion and MKZ in both hybrid and plug-in varieties (where applicable). Also covered as part of the rerating is the entire lineup of 2014 Fiesta engines, with the exception of the ST, including the turbocharged, three-cylinder EcoBoost.
The C-Max was originally rated at 47/47/47 mpg, but dropped to 43/45/40 last year and now to 40/42/37.
Martini Mustang is a 'what if moment' gone right
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Feast your eyes on a masterpiece. This is Steve Strope's Ford Mustang in the classic fastback bodystyle, and as you'll notice, it sports the signature colors of Martini Racing, a livery that's as legendary as any Gulf Racing-styled car. But the red, white and blues of the Martini stripe down this Mustang's middle tell only a very small part of the story, in the latest video from Petrolicious.
What would you guess is under the hood? A 289-cubic-inch V8? Maybe a 302, or some absurd Ford crate engine? Maybe Strope went all Tokyo Drift - he's actually responsible for the "Hammer" Plymouth Satellite driven by Vin Diesel at the end of the movie - and found an RB26DETT to drop into the pony car? You'd be wrong on all counts.
This mad, mad man somehow finagled a Ford-Lotus engine from a 1966 Indianapolis 500 car into the Mustang's engine bay. Yes, a Mustang with an engine designed for a 160-mile-per-hour, open-wheel racecar. That's like someone in 40 years dropping McLaren's 2.4-liter V8 from the MP4-28 into a Scion FR-S. It'd just make a monster.
