PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY: I will try to explain this the best I can. In 1979 the vehicle with vin#2A48Q189576 was rear ended and totaled out by the insurance company. The previous owner found another 1972 Ranchero with vin#2A47F288864, this is the body that is housing every item from the original 1972 Ranchero including the rare q-code vin number dash board and has a clear Florida title for vin#2A48Q189576 also have the clear title to 2A47F288864. This Ranchero has a 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet roller motor that was professionally rebuilt and 4 speed trans. a very Fast Car . The dash board with a full instrument cluster is in excellent shape no cracks and all instruments work. The door panels are in excellent shape. The seats are in good shape, drivers seat does have 2 rips. As far as mechanicals this car runs and can be driven now only thing that may need replaced is the throw out bearing on the clutch which is an easy fix. The frame and floors are in good shape but the body has rust in places. Car has 9 inch ford rear end not sure what the gears are. 40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?

The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.
Ford adds third shift at F-150 plant to keep up with demand
Tue, 06 Aug 2013The signs have been very positive for Ford's F-Series line of pickup trucks as of late, and after 24 consecutive months of increasing sales of the best-selling F-150, the automaker has added a third production crew at its Kansas City Assembly Plant that includes 900 new hourly workers to meet demand for the truck. This the first step in Ford's plan to add 2,000 hourly jobs at the plant to help meet demand for its trucks and to begin production of the new Transit van, the automaker says.
Despite some tough new competition, sales of the F-Series are the strongest they've been since 2006, according to Ford. The automaker sold 60,449 F-Series in July, the best sales figure for the mid-summer month since 2006, which also represents a 23 percent increase compared to July 2012. From January to July 2013, sales were up 22 percent compared to the same period last year.
Ford has committed to creating 12,000 hourly jobs by 2015, and with the 900 new employees added to the assembly plant in Missouri, the company says it has completed 75 percent of its goal. Ford has also invested $1.1 billion to retool and expand the Kansas City Assembly Plant to ready it for Transit production.
