Great looking mild custom Ranchero. This candy apple red beauty features a built 302c.i. V-8, C-4 automatic transmission and a 9" rear end. The engine was recently torn down and fitted with Trick Flo aluminum heads, solid lifter cam with roller rockers and an Edelbrock Air Gap intake with a matching 1406 Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor. The engine has less than 1k miles since completion. The interior is mostly stock except for the tach, B&M shifter and aftermarket gauges. Other extras include Mallory ignition, 17" alloy wheels with Khumo tires front disc brakes and, oh-yeah NITROS! This Ranchero is very well put together with the candy apple paint, the rolled rear pan and the overall look of a daily driver. Payment You are welcome to pay deposit with PayPal or wire transfer. We prefer final payment with Wire transfer, I have been with the same bank for over 20 years and they would be happy to assist you with this. We will also accept cashiers check (certified from US or Canadian bank) or money order, cash (in person) personal check (once cleared) PayPal, visa and MasterCard (there is a fee for this, please call first to determine the fee) I do need a $1000 deposit within 24hours at the end of auction. Final Payment due within 3 days after end of auction. Sometimes I'm willing to work with buyer on giving the buyer a few more days if they are trying to obtain financing as I know this can take a few days. You would need to discuss this with me first so we can work together on this. Transport-Shipping I am happy to be an active part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form or other reasonable help. They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.

Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads
Fri, Sep 11 2015Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring.
