Up for sale is a 1968 Ford Ranchero GT. This is an original GT, 390, bucket seat car. It is currently powered by a later model V8 matched to a 5 speed standard shift transmission. The car runs, shifts and drives nice. Extras include a functional shaker hood and nice sounding dual exhaust. The interior appears to be original and in great shape. There are aftermarket gauges and radio. These are tastefully done. The body and paint are beautiful. All the body lines are straight and true. There are factory style stripes that are painted on. They look amazing. There are some 2 small dents in the roof,some minor nicks and a small bubble in the paint in front of the right rear wheel well. These are very minor. Everything seems to work as it should. The speedometer and some of the other gauges don't work. This is a great car to drive as is or take it to the next level. Ford considering return to Le Mans with new EcoBoost LMP2
Mon, 21 Jul 2014If you want to see a Ford racing prototype, you need look no further than the United SportsCar Championship, where the Blue Oval fields two Daytona Prototypes powered by an EcoBoost-branded 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. But according to the latest rumors, that may not be enough for Ford, which has as much brand to promote overseas as it does back home.
That could be why Racer magazine is reporting that Ford may be poised to return to Le Mans in the coming years. As we all know, Ford competed at Le Mans in the mid-through-late '60s, bringing home four consecutive overall wins with the legendary GT40. The new program would not, according to Racer, seek to relive those glory days, but would instead compete for class wins in the LMP2 category.
Currently, LMP2 regulations are somewhat split between the United SportsCar Championship in North America on the one hand and ACO-sanctioned series like the European Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship on the other, but plans are underway for the regulations to be unified in time for the 2017 season. That could be when Ford is targeting its return, allowing it to compete on both sides of the Atlantic to maximize its exposure.

The redesigned Pony Car has been the subject of frantic gossiping and covert spy photos covering everything from the way it looks to the tech it will include, its performance, mechanicals and a bevy of other aspects of Ford's performance icon.
First 1K next-gen Mustangs to carry 2014 1/2 model year?
Thu, 18 Jul 2013A new report from Mustangs Daily, citing insider sources at Ford, tells us that the Blue Oval will produce 1,000 next-generation Mustangs with the model year designation of 2014 ½, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the storied marque. The commemorative half-year designation is a rumor that's been swirling in Mustang forums for quite some time now, and seems more plausible than ever with this most recent report. Certainly it's not far-fetched to believe that Ford will want to make a big deal of the golden anniversary for its most-loved model.
The story (compiled by Drew Phillips, who runs the aforementioned Mustang site when he's not directing the photography on these pages) goes on to say that the limited-run cars will be the first built on the new Mustang platform internally known as S550 (and spied testing in the attached gallery). Each car is said to carry a "special" VIN and build number, though no performance upgrades versus the 2015 cars to follow are in the works. A collector's dream then, rather than a weekend racer's.
