1967 Ford Ranchero 500 Xl 6.4l on 2040-cars
Denver, Colorado, United States
I have a very rare 1967 Ford Ranchero XL 500 for sale. It is an original numbers matching big block 4 speed car. 390 high performance engine, close ratio 4 speed toploader transmission, 9" 3:25 to 1 traction-lock differential. Bucket seats, center console, XL trim, rare factory tachometer. Power steering and power disc brakes. According to internet research there were 1881 XL Rancheros built in 1967. Of that, 494 were "Z" engine codes and only 171 came with 4 speeds. This was an original red car with black interior. Has Unilite electronic distributor, Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake and Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm carburetor. Aside from that, the long block is original. The car runs and drives nicely and can be used as a daily driver. New shocks on all 4 corners. Front suspension is all new and has been lowered 1". Front sway bar has been upgraded to 1". Originally came with a 3:00 posi, now 3:25. New dual exhaust system with "H" pipe. Good brakes. New Cragar S/S wheels - 15" x 7" front and 15" x 8" rears with nice T/A radials. Everything works well on the car (lights, turn signals, radio, tach, wipers, etc.) with the exception of the horn. All glass is good although the windshield does have a scratch in it. Body is quite straight with no signs of any accidents except a slight crease in the passenger's rear quarter panel. There is some rust in the rear quarter panels down low (shown in pics) and the driver's side floor pan has been replaced with the correct full length pan and is very solid although not trimmed to a nice finish (also shown in pics). The bed had carpet in it when I purchased the car (approx. 3 years ago). I removed the carpet but the glue is still showing and there is pitting in the metal although very solid. I had the shock access and tailgate panel stripped and primed. My plan was to strip the remainder and Rhino-line the bed to cover the pitting. The remainder of the car is pretty much rust-free. Interior is nearly new...seats, carpet, door panels and headliner in very good shape. There is 1 crack in the dash at the speaker grille. Chrome and trim are complete and generally in very nice shape. The passenger's rear quarter panel trim is dinged up, but I have a nice replacement that goes with the vehicle. I also have a nice tailgate that is better than the one on the car. Some other small parts included. This is a rare muscle truck that is a one-year only body style (Fairlane). Serious parties please feel free to email or call (303) 775-2193 with questions. Thanks for your interest.

2015 Ford Expedition
Mon, 21 Jul 2014While the tide of bigger-is-better SUVs has been in recession since, well, the recession, fullsize utes are still very much with us. Conservative creatures that have been loathe to evolve, fullsize SUVs nonetheless remain enduringly popular among large families, livery customers, and anyone with lots of friends, relatives, and toys to tug around. With respect to Toyota and Nissan, the only players that really matter in the segment are the new-for-2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban, the GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and this truck: the Ford Expedition, the latest evolution of which we just drove for the first time at a press preview in West Virginia.
Unlike the General Motors utilities, the standard Expedition and the long-wheelbase Expedition EL are not all-new, but rather are heavily refreshed versions of the same basic truck Ford started selling way back in 2007. The front fascia is where most of the exterior update happens for 2015, with a new three-bar grille design, halogen projector headlamps, and new bumper design with available LED foglamps. Despite all the new bits, the facelift breaks exactly zero ground in terms of design; in fact, it already looks dated, and will only look older once the macho 2015 F-150 bows later this year. Even less has changed out back, where the tailgate gets a wide chrome band spanning the taillamps and a new chrome exhaust tip. Other exterior changes are generally limited to colors and an all-new wheel lineup that includes a gleaming set of six-spoke 22-inch polished wheels on high-end models.
Speaking of high-end models, a new Platinum trim is positioned above the cowboy-spec King Ranch model for 2015. Both the Platinum and King Ranch get their own color combos and exterior trim finishes (satin metal for the Platinum, chrome everywhere and ginormous badges for the King Ranch) and posh, leather-lined interiors with their own aesthetic. The Expedition family also now includes a price-leading XL model, as well as XLT and Limited grades.
Galpin Auto Sports and Fisker turn the Mustang into a Rocket in LA [w/video]
Thu, Nov 20 2014Galpin Auto Sport and Henrik Fisker made big promises about the Rocket before its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show today, calling it the "ultimate American muscle car." Now that this 725-horsepower carbon-fiber Ford Mustang has officially been revealed, we've now got a chance to see if their vision backs up all the bluster. The Rocket is based off the latest 2015 Mustang, but the entire exterior design has been substantially reworked by Fisker. "This is a project born out of passion, it's a dream come true, to have the opportunity to 'touch' a Mustang and apply my design ideas to it," he says in the model's announcement. The biggest changes come up front, where Fisker has added a gaping hexagonal grille with a polished bar running and two nearly hidden driving lights at the top corners. Long nostrils run down each side of the hood, taking their inspiration from the 1968 Shelby GT500. The Rocket's design also emphasizes its scalloped sides, which run back to functional ducts at the rear to cool the Brembo Grand Turismo brakes. When checking out the Rocket from the rear, it's easy to spot the wider fenders that are beautifully blended into the integrated spoiler. The interior has been left mostly alone beyond some eye-grabbing red leather and carbon-fiber trim. Under the hood, Galpin spokesperson Nathan Hoyt has confirmed to Autoblog that the Rocket employs a 5.0-liter V8 with a Whipple supercharger which can be called to attention with a six-speed manual gearbox. It took only a few months for the vehicle to go from conception to reality. Fisker showed Galpin President Beau Boeckmann early sketches at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and the two parties went from there. "When Henrik showed me his ideas, I got chills - it's literally the most beautiful Mustang I have ever seen," says Boeckmann in the company's release. Production is set to begin in December, with deliveries starting in early 2015. There's no set production total in mind for now, but Hoyt tells Autoblog that the price will be "just over $100,000." Scroll down to read all of the details about Fisker and Galpin's Rocket.
2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]
Thu, 26 Jun 2014With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.
