1964 Ford Ranchero, engine & trans removed --- west coast car, not rotted.

**The Story**
This 64 Ranchero was driven frequently until about 1 year ago when the 302 V8 blew a head gasket. It has been parked ever since. The engine was recently removed for a rebuild, but it turns out to be non-salvageable. The C4 transmission was subsequently sold separately, and we are now selling the rolling chassis.

**Condition**
While the paint definitely needs some TLC, the panels line up quite well, and are pretty straight. No serious accident damage beyond small dings and a dent (shown in the pics). There is some surface rust in the usual spots, but the only place that appears to be weakened is the floor pan area behind the seats. The rest of the car is solid, and the undercarriage is quite clean. This car has drum brakes all around, and a manual steering rack. There are a handful of parts that will be included that are not shown in the pictures (cooling system, some interior parts, etc)

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.

Ford Everest Concept shows China also has an affinity for big trucks

The Ford Everest Concept SUV at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show shows the future of the Blue Oval's truck line in China. While a concept for now, we're told that JMC, Ford's Chinese joint-venture partner, will build a production version sometime in the near future.
With design from Ford's Asia Pacific design team, the handsome seven-passenger SUV shows off some very muscular styling with wraparound headlights that hook into the contours of the angular trapezoidal grille. The beltline rises up the body in the rear and makes the back appear higher than the front. The rear is made from hard, chiseled contours that give the truck a very tough look. The Everest looks ready for some rough roads.
Ford is keeping the interior and mechanical details about the Everest a secret for now, but the SUV is rumored to share some components with the overseas Ranger pickup.
