"NO RESERVE" listing, but note that the winning bidder will have $60.00 added to the final bid to pay for the ebay fees. Sorry, but listing cars is expensive! Rare, solid project car. We have the title in hand. Would be a great platform to restore, customize, or turn into a "Rat Rod". (Even had one guy who wanted to turn this into a hybrid vehicle!) Please note the car DOES NOT currently run, but the engine is not frozen and will turn over with a breaker bar on the crank bolt. Not the original engine, but a larger, 200 inline six was installed at some point. (originally came with a 144 inline six) The generator and starter motor are missing. The car currently is partially disassembled, but everything that was taken off of the car is present, and any hardware was bagged and labeled. Outer steering column sleeve, steering wheel, gauge cluster, have been removed and we have them all. Both front fenders are off the car, (straight, solid, and clean) along with the windshield trim, headlights & surrounds, tail lights & buckets/lenses,  grill and rear/front bumpers and filler panel. The rear tailgate has been damaged, but could easily be repaired with a little effort & know how and is off of the car. The interior has been stripped, and the included seats are not original, but we have one door panel and everything else that we removed. I will include pictures of the car when I first bought it and the rest of how it looks now. My son and I were working on the car but health issues, and lack of funds, and my son discovering girls, have stalled the project. We'd like the car to get the attention and love it deserves. We have several boxes of parts, the car is 95% present. (Likely more, but we're being conservative) VERY little rust for it's age and model. These cars have a reputation to rust and rot out, but this one is amazingly solid. The rocker panels are perfect, and the doors line up and open and close smoothly. The passenger door does not latch properly, as the mechanism needs repair. Glass is present and in good shape. The bed is straight and clean. The floor boards have one small rust hole, about the diameter of a pencil, on the driver's side. Also have a model specific wiring guide booklet, which is quite detailed and informative. Will also include several parts catalogs if the new owner wants them. Again, a solid platform to restore, customize, or what have you. The tires are old bias ply and not in good shape at all. (we have all five original rims) Think the back tires will hold air long enough to load on a dolly or trailer, etc. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via ebay.

Shipping is the sole responsibility of the new buyer but I'll assist as I'm able with logistics, etc. I reserve the right to end the auction early, with or without bids, as I have the car listed for sale locally and have had a lot of interest. You won't be disappointed! Car MUST be paid for in full within 7 business days of auction's end or listing's end. Paypal for the deposit is fine, and a $200.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction's end. The balance due within the timeframe stated above.

Cash, check, is acceptable for payment, but the car will NOT leave here until fully and completely paid in full and all funds have cleared. I will consider any "Buy It Now" offer over $1100.00 prior to any bids being placed, but no "low ball" offers, please. I'm not trying to get rich off of this car, but she is rare, and hard to find one not all rotted to pieces and this complete. I have described the car to the best of my ability, and I'm an honest seller, so please don't waste your, or my, time if you won't/can't complete the transaction in a timely fashion. Good luck and bid to win! Again, feel free to ask any questions...

Autoblog's June 2019 Editors' Picks

Wed, Jul 10 2019

Each year we review, test and rate hundreds of brand-new cars, trucks and SUVs. We rate these vehicles using the Autoblog score, giving a select few our Editors’ Pick. Here are the best cars we drove in June 2019. 2019 BMW 8 Series Everyone on the Autoblog staff loves a good grand tourer, so we were excited to get behind the wheel of the revived BMW 8 Series, specifically an M850i Coupe. A good GT needs to be as fast as it is stylish and comfortable, and the new 8 Series delivers. We particularly like the 523-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8Â’s copious power and smooth ride quality, even on MichiganÂ’s pockmarked post-winter roads. We dig the interior design, too, though not everyone was in love with the exterior. ItÂ’s not the best-handling car in its class, and doesnÂ’t hide its sizable proportions very well, but itÂ’s still worth a look if youÂ’re looking for a big, fast cruiser.  2019 Ford Expedition Crossovers may be the hottest vehicles on the market, but thereÂ’s still a sizable demand for traditional body-on-frame SUVs like the Ford Expedition. These behemoths offer plenty of space in addition to truck-like capability. We like the Expedition's smooth ride, powerful twin-turbo V6 and sharp exterior design, though the interior can feel a bit cheap, especially on some of the more expensive trims. Adding options quickly puts it into Lincoln Navigator territory, and itÂ’s hard to recommend the Ford over the Lincoln when the latter packs the same capability into a far nicer package. Still, the Expedition is as good or better than the competition in most respects, and thatÂ’s why itÂ’s one of our picks. 2019 Toyota 86 Few cars at any price point are as much fun as the Toyota 86 (and its twin, the Subaru BRZ). We like the 86Â’s balanced chassis and sharp steering, and while itÂ’s not as nimble as its close rival the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the ToyotaÂ’s back seat and trunk make it a more usable vehicle. But while we like the 86Â’s driving position, the rest of the interior feels cheap and dated, especially the infotainment system. We complained about the anemic powertrain back in 2012, and itÂ’s only gotten worse as the years have gone by.

Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.

Weekly Recap: Hackers demonstrate auto industry's vulnerability

Sat, Jul 25 2015

There's always been a certain risk associated with driving, and this week cyber security came into focus as the latest danger zone when researchers demonstrated how easily they could hack into a 2014 Jeep Cherokee from across the country. The incident raised concerns over the vulnerability of today's cars, many of which double as smartphones and hot spots. During the now-infamous experiment, Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller infiltrated the Jeep's cellular connection and were able to control the infotainment system, brakes, and other functions. The hackers told the Jeep's maker, FCA US, of their findings last year, the company devised a software fix. Though Valesek and Miller hacked a Cherokee (like the one shown above), several FCA products, including recent versions of the Ram, Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango, and Viper were also affected, illustrating potentially wide exposure that could reverberate across the sector. "For the auto industry, this is a very important event and shows that cyber-security protection is needed even sooner than previously planned," Egil Juliussen, senior analyst and research director for IHS Automotive, wrote in a research note. "Five years ago, the auto industry did not consider cyber security as a near-term problem. This view has changed." Hours after the Cherokee hacking incident was publicized on Tuesday, Sens. Ed Markey (D-Mass) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) introduced legislation to direct the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Federal Trade Commission to establish national standards for automotive cyber security. The bill also would require vehicles to have a cyber-rating system to alert consumers how well their cars' privacy and security are defended. "Drivers shouldn't have to choose between being connected and being protected," Markey said in a statement. "We need clear rules of the road that protect cars from hackers and American families from data trackers." Though FCA and its Jeep Cherokee were in the spotlight this time, they were just the latest to showcase how automotive technology has advanced faster than safety and regulatory measures. IHS forecasts 82.5 million cars will be connected to the internet by 2022, which is more than three times today's level. "Cyber-security will become a major challenge for the auto industry and solutions are long overdue," Juliussen said.
