1957 Ford Ranchero Running Driving Project 390 3 Speed on 2040-cars
Alpine, Texas, United States
1957 Ford Ranchero 390, 3 Speed. I picked up this body in Bakersfield a couple years ago to build a shop truck. I have since retired and this is as far as it got. Runs really good. Drives fine. 390, BUT it might be a 352. I took it out of a 57 Retractable. 62 model block with 58 machined chamber heads. 4 brl. Does not smoke or leak. 3 Speed on the column. Later trans with synchronized low. Trans needs a rear seal. Went through the brake system. New Master cylinder, wheel cylinders, metal lines and new hoses. New fuel pump, aluminum radiator, upper a frame bushings, rear shocks, emergency brake cable. Tires and wheels were something I had laying around the shop. Rear 255/35/ZR20, front 245/40/ZR20. The front tires have some cracks in the side walls. One front center cap is broke. All the lights and signals work as well as the horn. All the glass is good except the rear window has a crack and some b-b chips. New windshield seal. New Headliner and some cheap cut to fit carpet. I have all the inside trim and a extra set of stainless for around the bed. It needs lower quarters, rockers and fenders repaired. I have done the floor. I have a set of lower quarters I cut off another car that go with it as well as the door moldings. IT NEEDS A GAS TANK. I run it on can in the back. The old tank is still under the car so you have the filler neck and straps. You can pick it up here 79830 Alpine Tx. With a couple days notice I can meet you in Hamlin Tx 79520. Just north of Abilene. I have a two car trailer with up coming trips to Phoenix, Billings Mt, Biloxi Ms and In. I can drop it off along any of those routes or meet you somewhere. Storage after payment is not a problem. 214-226-3119. E mailing me works best. Cell Reception here is spotty. I am sure I forgot something. It is for sale locally.

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.
Ford jumps back in the water with marinized 6.2L V8
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.
