First year for the Ranchero, a rare find. Has approximately 26,000 miles, true mileage unknown but I drive it daily so it's bound to change. The color of the outside is not original but the inside is. I just drive around town and it drives fine. I have had a new fuel pump and filter installed as well as a new carburetor, cleared out the fuel lines and boiled and coated the original gas tank and installed a new fuel float. I still have the old carburetor which we rebuilt but it runs better with the new carb. New correct sized battery with new electronic ignition and new distributor cap, also installed new spark plugs. New Dyna Max muffler setup from the headers. It has dual chrome tips out the back. Rebuilt original two speed transmission and it runs and shifts fine. New water pump. New brake shoes, wheel cylinders, brake hose lines and hardware kit. Also upgraded to a dual master cylinder brake booster. New oil pump, filter and oil of course. The headlight bulbs have been changed to halogen to see better at night. The radio works, the clock works intermittently, the windshield wipers work but the heater does not work and the horn works. I think I bought the car from the son of the original owner. I tried to show as best I could where the rust and paint peeling is in the pics. There is some rust on the bottom of the rear fenders, behind the drivers door near the rocker. There is bondo showing through the paint in front of the driver side rear fender and the floor panels are pitted but relatively solid. Also there is a spot in the rear fender well on the passenger side rear that has a spot. Most of the rust spots are less than 3-4 inches except maybe behind the rear wheels. Paint is peeling on several spots throughout the car most notably the tops of the roof and around the head lights and rear fender fins. The hood and doors shut but the springs on the hood are worn. The doors shut but could use adjustment. I was going to rebuild the engine but was told by my mechanic it looked fine on the inside and from my driving it the past year I'd say he's right. It drives relatively straight on the highway and cruises well at 70. Just installed a new driveline and four new shocks so it sits higher than is shown in the pictures. All work was done by a mechanic so it's been done right. Please call 925-918-3389 with any and all questions before you bid. The car is available to look at in Pleasanton, California which would be a good idea so that you know what your getting. The car is sold as is. Any shipping will be the buyers responsibility, although I will do what I can to expedite the process. My reserve is set well below what I have in it but of course I think is fair considering it is a very good driving classic.

Ford lowers MPG ratings on six vehicles
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Ford has announced that it will be lowering the fuel economy ratings on a number of its 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles after an error was discovered in the company's internal testing data. The EPA has been notified.
Worryingly for Ford, the vast majority of the vehicles affected are hybrids, including the C-Max, Fusion and MKZ in both hybrid and plug-in varieties (where applicable). Also covered as part of the rerating is the entire lineup of 2014 Fiesta engines, with the exception of the ST, including the turbocharged, three-cylinder EcoBoost.
The C-Max was originally rated at 47/47/47 mpg, but dropped to 43/45/40 last year and now to 40/42/37.
280-bhp Elemental RP1 revealed, now with bike-engine option
Thu, Jun 26 2014The Elemental RP1 might be Britain's next big boutique roadster success story. Designed by a team with Formula One experience, it aims to mix road car drivability with racecar performance in a single, adaptable package weighing less than 1,000 pounds. It was first previewed a few weeks ago, but the secrecy has finally disappeared due to its upcoming debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The backbone of the RP1 is a carbon fiber and aluminum tub onto which the front and rear subframes bolt on. Inside, it has an F1-like, feet-up driving position that allows for additional underfloor aerodynamic aids to improve downforce. Despite its hardcore nature, Elemental says that it wants the car to be very user friendly. Buyers should be able to drive the RP1 to the track, adjust it with some wrenches, go racing and drive it home. The company even claims the storage areas to either side of the engine offer enough room for a helmet and other racing gear. Hopefully, buyers don't crash, though, otherwise they might be stuck. Elemental is adding two more engine options for the RP1, as well. In addition to the previously announced tuned Ford 2.0-liter EcoBoost with 280 horsepower, buyers can also choose a upgraded version of Ford's three-cylinder 1.0-liter EcoBoost or a model aimed at pure track use with a 999cc Honda Fireblade motorcycle engine. The 2.0-liter uses a six-speed sequential manual gearbox, and a limited-slip differential and alternate gear sets are available as additional options. The first RP1s built will be pure racers for the 2015 season, and the first road cars will follow in the early summer of next year. Pricing isn't set yet, but scroll down for more details and full specs of Britain's latest feather light car for road and track. Introducing the Elemental Rp1 Press Release: 23/6/2014 British sports car manufacturer, Elemental Motor Company Limited, today released further details of their new and innovative, road legal track car, the Rp1. The Rp1 is an open top, road legal, mid engined sports car that incorporates state of the art road and race car technologies. Designed, Engineered and Built by a team with decades of experience in the Formula One and Supercar industries, it brings the concept of a road legal track car firmly into the 21st Century. The Rp1 will be revealed to the public for the first time, this weekend, at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will located in the Moving Motor Show tent "First Glance" display.
