1994 Ford Probe Gt Hatchback 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Brookston, Indiana, United States
This Second Generation Probe GT is a good candidate for
restoration or performance modifications. It is a stock GT with 229+K mainly
highway miles. It has been an excellent cruiser; especially on the highway. It
has an Arctic White exterior and gray cloth interior. Mechanically, the car
will likely need a new throttle position sensor and/or cleaning of the EGR
valve to improve performance. This is a sporty, but practical vehicle with plenty of cargo space with or without the rear seats folded down. The interior is all original with an uncracked dashboard. Power windows and cruise control work just fine.
The car has had several things replaced as part of normal maintenance such as: new front
and rear struts; new front axle half shafts and CV joint boots; ball joints
& tie-rod ends; alternator, distributor with modified external high energy
ignition module, mass air flow sensor, exhaust system, tires (not recently new,
but in good shape); front brake pads and rotors; new spark plug and wires; and water pump. I have a clear title in hand and will accept cash
or cashier's check.
Also have some maintenance and parts receipts; owner's manual and a Ford Probe Factory Shop manual. The car must be picked up by the buyer within a week of the sell. I will not deliver. Thanks for your interest. I will answer any questions you may have. |

2015 Ford Focus gets more Aston-y [w/video]
Tue, 04 Mar 2014With more and more members of the Ford brand adopting a new familial face, the Focus has been left looking like an odd man out. At the Geneva Auto Show, though, it properly rejoined the family, adopting the now familiar Aston Martin-ish grille that's proliferated throughout the range.
Overall, we're liking the refreshed Focus' look. Aside from the new grille, the headlights have been restyled and now look like elongated versions of the lamps on the Focus ST. Functionally, those headlamps are bi-xenon units, complete with an adaptive front lighting system. Out back, the rear retains the same overall look, which has been smoothed out for 2015.
In the cabin, the second-generation of Ford's much-maligned Sync system makes its debut. Sync 2, as it's called, is supposedly more intuitive than the first-gen system. Ford is promising "one-shot" navigation functions for the system. Saying "I'm hungry," should bring up a list of nearby restaurants. Of course, we'll be reserving final judgment until we can test the new system in person.
China takes lead as GM's No. 1 market
Tue, 09 Jul 2013It's happened. General Motors' biggest vehicle market - at least in terms of new model sales - is China. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, GM and its various Chinese joint venture operations enjoyed a 10.6-percent sales increase in the first half of 2013, selling almost 1.6 million units in the market. That puts GM China about 200,000 units ahead of its US sales totals over the same period - this, despite indicators that the communist nation's economy is losing momentum.
TDB notes that like GM, rival Ford has also enjoyed a robust 2013 in China thus far, with its sales up a whopping 47 percent to 407,721 units sold - 75,254 of them in June alone. Between the two US automakers, passenger car sales for the first half of 2013 are up around 14 percent, well ahead of the rest of the industry's 10-percent growth estimates for the market. Some of the sales growth may come as a result of an overall anti-Japan sentiment in China, though the American brands have long outsold their Japanese counterparts in the country.
By The General's own predictions, China will only continue to grow in sales importance. The company has designs on selling over five million cars a year in the market before the end of the decade, a total that figures to dramatically widen the gap versus its US totals - even if America's auto market makes a full recovery to the the salad days of over 17-million units a year.
This Or That: Fiat 500 Abarth vs. Ford Fiesta ST [w/poll]

They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.
