I have for sell a 2005 Ford F650 with a caterpillar C7 engine and Allison transmission. The truck has a custom made
hood to fit the new f-series headlights, once the headlights were done being installed the truck was sprayed with
Titanium dioxide for the ultra pure white base for the pearls to be sprayed over. It has a mix of 6 different
pearls for the Titanium Dioxide base to have a different color shade depending on which angle you look at the truck
from. It has green, gold, blue, red, magenta and purple. When the sun is shining directly on the side and looks
greenish-goldish once the truck is in the shade or the sun is going down it the pearl starts to shift to gold-green
on the higher edges to blue-purple-red looking pearl hits over the Titanium Dioxide. Once the outside was finished
I had the interior swapped over to a full King Ranch leather interior with new carpet and real suede headliner. As
you may know this year model has the same school bus looking dash and a 1999-2007 f-350 so I had the dash board
swapped over to the newer 2008 and up dash board but it didn't stop there, before installing the dash it was sent
off to have the entire dash, windshield pillars, door pillars, the back cab pillars and door switch panels entirely
hydro dipped in mahogany to separate it from all the other trucks out there. Once the new dash was installed the
truck was taken to Augusta Ga to have the new 2008 and newer style gauge cluster with white led lights to
illuminate the dials. For the sound system I had a Kenwood touch screen radio put into the dash with Alpine type-R
component speakers for the highs and 3 12" pioneer ib Flat subwoofers behind the rear seat. The entire truck is
covered with 2 layers of sound deadening material. All the power and ground wires on the truck have been swapped
over to 0 gauge wire running to the stereo, amplifiers, all 3 batteries and the alternator. After the interior was
finished the attention was back to the exterior with the installation on the triple step stainless steel fuel
tanks. They will hold about 130-140 gallons per side. For the big tough look I had 385/65r22.5 Firestone tires on
the steers with Alcoa wheels and 315/80r22.5 Firestone tires on the drives on Alcoa wheels. For the rear suspension
I had K&L customs install Air Liner air suspension to smooth out the ride and on the front it has the stock Ford
suspension with the addition of Fox Racing remote reservoir shocks. For peace of mind the truck has a Viper remote
start alarm with GPS tracking that is smart phone compatible for real time tracking of where the truck is location
direction and speed it's traveling. It also has a KVH satellite TV system on the rails of a Cadillac Escalade EXT
roof rack.
For the bad:
Truck does not have a air compressor installed for the air suspension. It has a air valve for manual filling. With
normal driving it requires air about once every 3 weeks. I have a TruFlo 550 engine driven compressor that I will
include with the truck for the new owner to install.
The RPM gauge on the cluster does not read as the cat engine puts out a different signal than the gauges I found
would accept. I'm sure someone out there can fix it I just haven't found the right person
to do it.

Ford's cars being held up in Chinese ports in trade tensions with U.S.

Wed, May 9 2018

BEIJING — Ford Motor Co's imported vehicles are being held up at Chinese ports, three people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, underscoring how U.S. goods are facing increased customs scrutiny in China amid a tense trade standoff. The three people said Ford and Lincoln vehicles were facing unusual delays at customs, with officials asking for extra technical checks. Two of the people said U.S.-made models of some German carmakers, mainly SUVs, being brought into China, were also affected. Ford was being asked to do extra checks on emission components, said a China-based Ford executive familiar with the matter, asking not be named because of the sensitivity of the issue. China's customs agency did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The holdups add to a growing list of American products facing issues at China's borders, as officials try to avert a full-blown trade war. Some trade experts said they believe Beijing is sending a defiant warning to Washington in response to sweeping U.S. trade demands made on China last week. Reuters reported Tuesday that China had ramped up inspections of pork shipped from the United States, after the country's customs agency said it would step up quarantine checks on American apples and logs. The second person, a China-based industry official with knowledge of the matter, said the delays for Ford — as well as some U.S.-made cars from BMW and Mercedes-Benz — had been going on for the last two weeks. "Customs pretends there are technical non-conformities of some nature that won't allow them to clear these U.S.-made cars through customs, but the U.S.-China trade frictions must be the background to this," he said. "Although no one will officially admit it." Responding to a request for comment from Reuters, a BMW spokesman said that "U.S.-made BMW cars have not been delayed at the ports as of last week and before." A Daimler spokeswoman said it was "monitoring the situation closely" regarding ongoing trade talks between China and the United States, but that she could not speculate further on other matters. The third person said the Ford issue, which had been noted by the United States government, and other holdups facing American goods, were clearly related to the trade dispute. A Ford spokeswoman in Shanghai when asked about the matter said: "We are closely monitoring our situation at the port." She declined to comment further.

Crowdsource funding push on to save historic Ford buildings

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T.
Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story."
The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.

Ford abandons MyFord Touch, all hail Sync 3 infotainment [w/video]

Thu, Dec 11 2014

MyFord Touch has been among the most widely disdained automotive infotainment systems on the market, practically since its introduction in 2010. Consumer Reports was among the most vocal critics, all but advocating its lynching by an angry mob armed with torches and pitchforks. Not surprisingly, then, after such a critical walloping, Ford has finally decided to say goodbye to the unloved tech, declaring the end of MyFord Touch branding in favor of Sync 3 for its upcoming, all-new system. Ford is promising everything you would expect from Sync 3, including faster response time, better voice-command integration, easier controls and a more useable interface. The screen layout includes fewer items to make them easier to discern, and the icons are made from large, high-contrast buttons. There's also a dedicated tab for apps at the bottom of the screen in addition to those for audio, climate, phone and navigation. Another useful feature is the fact that Sync 3 can download improvements over your home Wi-Fi for easier updates. In addition to the revamped interface, the software running behind the scenes is a big change too. Rather than MyFord Touch's Microsoft-sourced system, Sync 3 uses the Blackberry-owned QNX, according to Automotive News. Such a switch was rumored earlier this year. Drivers still have to live with MyFord Touch a little longer, though. According to Automotive News, Ford said that the change to Sync 3 will happen during the 2016 model year with complete integration into the lineup by the end of the 2016 calendar year. It will come standard on Titanium trim models and as a separate option will be priced in line with the current MyFord Touch. The Sync 3 brand will carry over to Lincoln, too, but with a different look. The gallery above shows a few more looks at the interface, and we invite you to scroll down to watch a video of Sync 3 in action and to read Ford's press release about it, below.
