I have for sale a 2000 Ford F550 with a 7.3L diesel power stroke engine with an automatic transmission. The transmission does have a plate on the driver's side so you could mount a power take-off on it. In the last two months, I've bought two new batteries for it and a new power steering pump. The truck has a little under 120,000 miles on it. It has 19.5 inch tires with 40-60% tread. It runs and drives good. It does NOT have A/C or power windows, it's just a heavy duty, good work truck. I've had it about six months and have bought a newer truck, which is why I'm selling this one. Two or three months ago the speedometer quit working, which made the cruise stop working. I don't know what's wrong with it. I have added around 600-800 miles since it stopped. In the last month, I had a set of running boards put on and a 3 foot long toolbox underneath the flatbed. This is a 14 year old truck, so it does have some dents and scratches on the body, but very little rust.

The flatbed is around 8 feet wide and 9 feet long, all steel. It is in good shape. It is a Knapheide brand. It does have a gooseneck ball in the middle of the bed, and you can pull a bumper-type pull trailer behind this truck. It has the wiring to do this.

If you're interested without the flatbed on it, once paid in full I can remove it and will take $500 off the price of the truck if you'd like to mount something different on the chassis. I do have a clear Illinois title in my name for this truck.

Automakers donating money, vehicles and supplies to Oklahoma tornado relief effort

Judging by the destruction the Oklahoma City area experienced earlier this week, residents are going to need a lot of help in coming months. Fortunately, a number of automakers - including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Honda and Toyota - have stepped up to donate money, supplies and vehicles to aid in the recovery and rebuilding processes.
Here's a quick rundown of which automakers have pitched in and what each contributed so far:
Ford Motor Company has donating $250,000 and a Transit Connect to the American Red Cross, and it will match all other donations made to the Red Cross (up to $250,000) using a special URL tied to the latter's website (link here). Additionally, its local Oklahoma dealers have thrown in an extra $150,000 for the United Way and the automaker will be offering an extra $500 toward the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.

2015 Ford Mustang already under recall, but just 53 units

Ford has issued a small - but significant - recall for one of its spotlight cars: the 2015 Mustang.
The recall affects just 53 cars, with 50 in the United States and three in Canada. Ford said the passenger side safety belt buckle tension sensor may not have been calibrated properly by the supplier. This could lead to "misclassification" of the passenger seat occupant, and could cause the airbag to deploy improperly.
A Ford spokesperson didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. In a statement, the automaker said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries, and dealers will replace the buckle assembly at no cost to customers. The cars affected were built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan from Aug. 18 to Oct. 2.

Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?

Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.
