I'm trying to sell my 1979 Ford Courier before I move. It's had an extensive mechanical overhaul, and does run and drive good. It's done as a rat rod, so flat black paint, tall rat shifter with a becks beer knob, and basic interior. List of some of the work done in the last 15k miles:
New rebuilt engine
Rebuilt 2100 carb
80 amp alternator upgrade
All new exhaust and manifold
All new brake lines
All new brakes all around
All new steering wear items replaced
All new suspension
Extensive wire harness repairs, and new blade style fuse block
New leather seats out of a saturn sky roadster
New interior parts, dash panel, gauge surround, visors, door panels
Gas tank sealed internally, and undercoated exterior w. new sender too
Polished slotted vintage rims, rear tires are like new bfgs fronts are 50% goodyears
H4 replaceable headlights with bright 130w bulbs
New blacked out grill, and new blacked out tail lights
Floorboard rebuilt with fiberglass, new rocker panels, and new fenders.
It does run, and does need finishing work to be done or perfect take your pick. Biggest problem is the steering is still sloppy so the gear box needs rebuilt. It has and can still be driven as is, but it should be done. Both door latchs are not very good and need replaced. They have slop, and the pass side is a pain to open but they do stay shut. The engine leaks oil from the oil pan/rear seal area which requires removing the block to fix. I drove it that way so up to you if you feel like doing it. The radiator electric fan is rigged up. The factory fan clutch failed, so I replaced it with an electric one. The seller on here lied about the thickness and I could not get it to fit in front of the water pump pulley the right way. Body wise it needs lots of help if you want to paint it the right way. All the rust has been removed, but there is lots and lots of dents all over. This is an ex work truck, and it shows. I painted it flat black for a reason, but it looks ok from 20 feet away. True mileage UNKNOWN, it's a 5 digit od and has been used it's whole life so your guess is as good as mine. It has 15k miles since being overhauled, that's the best I can do. Listed for sale locally, and if it does not sell by the end of the month it will move it with and keep it. If you are local and want to make a trade offer I may consider it, but it needs to be a nice trade.

Bill Ford says carsharing helps Ford, EVs need to be clean
Mon, Sep 8 2014To most people, Bill Ford is most famous for being the great-grandson of Henry Ford. But, as the executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, Ford has also been leading the company into greener and greener territory. At the morning plenary session for the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Detroit today, Ford discussed a wide variety of topics, including connected cars (of course), plug-in vehicle and how Ford's collaboration with Zipcar came about because of he liked what the Zipcar CEO was excited about getting cars off the road. Given that the conference has a big focus on communication between cars this year, it's no surprise that Ford talked about his company's work on that front. He's looking at the long term, though, and says that despite announcements like the one General Motors made yesterday about Super Cruise, when fully autonomous vehicles get here, it won't be headline news since the ground work is being laid by technologies coming to cars in bits and pieces now. In other words, your adaptive cruise control is getting ready for bigger and better things. "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." – Bill Ford On the zero-emission vehicle front, Ford said that while he's in favor of electric vehicles, "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." He was discussing the emissions reality of coal-powered electricity, and said that, "We've got to have a national discussion about what we want our grid to look like." As for the work that Ford is doing with Zipcar (which is just one of the many automaker carsharing operations out there today), Ford said that he first approached Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith after hearing Griffith talk at a green conference four or five years ago. Griffith was surprised, Ford said, because he had just given a talk about ways to reduce car ownership. "Did you hear my speech? I talked about taking cars off the road," Ford remembers Griffith saying. "Yeah, and what's going to happen without us," Ford responded. Today, the partnership allows Ford to get cars to people that have traditionally been "hard to reach," like college students on campuses. Ford's vehicles are currently available on 250 colleges campuses. Ford then spoke favorably about other challenges to the traditional car ownership model, like Lyft and Relay Rides. "Rather than being frightened by that, we need embrace it and help makes their companies better," he said.
Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]
Mon, 04 Aug 2014The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.
Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.
