My 1952 Ford F1 (F100) Pickup Streetrod is an awesome "Resto Rod" Combining the
Incredible Nostalgic Looks of Yesterday with the while meeting today's performance standards.
IT'S AMAZING.

Let's get into some of the specifics.
The truck is "Motorvated" by a brand new Mr. Goodwrench crate 350 Chevy with
a brand new 350 automatic transmission.....beefed up of course a bit for some
extra performance.  The engine has a really nice high performance intake manifold added
and it runs and sound fabulous.

Of course, the cooling system has been updated with a high quality performance radiator to keep things
cool under the hood and in the cab things are kept cool by a really nice Vintage Air/Heat combo unit and it works great, even in intense El Paso Tx. hot temperatures.

Alot of thought and innovation went into the building of this beautiful 1952 Ford F1 Pickup Streetrod.
Check out the shot of the grille below. Notice anything different??  Can you tell me what's different?
Most people can't.

Of course the chrome speaks for itself. Most of the older grilles were painted white or gray.
But look a little harder.....

The stock grille normally only has 3 vertical "teeth"...this one has 5.
Isn't that cool?

And quite expensive to come up with in the process. But this
beautiful truck deserves all the love is received.

Now here's another totally cool but subtle thing to consider.
Look at the cab from the side...notice anything?  You may not but don't feel
bad. Most people don't...they just wonder why the truck looks to amazing.

The cab was "chopped" 2" which means the cab is 2" shorter than a stock cab.
And the great part is you get the amazing looks of this truck and still have bunches
of headroom for people who may be over 6' tall.

The interior is exceptionally nice and check out the awesome chrome tilt
steering column. And yes, don't forget the great AC/Heat in the truck. I
retained the original gauges for a retro appearance but it also has some nice
modern gauges to the right of the original ones.

***Please note that the gas gauge
is not reading correctly. It reads about 1/2 of what the actual fuel level is.***

Oh, and did I mention electric windows and a nice stereo?

The truck was also used for State Farm Insurance promotions and advertising.
Check out the interesting License Plate. It's no longer current but will go with
the truck.

I will also entertain trades for a really nice low mileage trike

(no voyager please) or perhaps another antique/custom/streetrod auto

preferably from the 1930's-1940's range. Not interested in any projects please.

Might consider a trade up or down for the right vehicle.

NO FOREIGN BUYERS, however I will work with buyers from Mexico

and Canada.

YOU UP AND YOU CAN  DRIVE IT HOME.

AND IT WILL BE A GREAT RIDE.

Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set

Tue, Jul 19 2022

Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, hence  the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950s and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with the American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.

At meeting with automakers, Trump launches new attack on NAFTA

Fri, May 11 2018

WASHINGTON — Ten American and foreign automakers went to the White House on Friday to push for a weakening of U.S. fuel efficiency standards through 2025, while President Donald Trump used the occasion to launch a fresh attack on the North American Free Trade Agreement that has benefited the companies. A draft proposal circulated by the U.S. Transportation Department would freeze fuel efficiency requirements at 2020 levels through 2026, rather than allowing them to increase as previously planned. Trump's administration is expected to formally unveil the proposal later this month or in June. "We're working on CAFE standards, environmental controls," Trump told reporters at the top of the meeting, referring to the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards for cars and light trucks in the United States. Trump said he wants automakers to build more vehicles in the United States and export more vehicles. But much of the hour-long meeting focused on NAFTA. Trump blasted the pact involving the United States, Canada and Mexico as "terrible" and noted that negotiations to make changes sought by his administration were ongoing. "NAFTA has been a horrible, horrible disaster for this country and we'll see if we can make it reasonable," Trump said. Automakers have called NAFTA a success, allowing them to integrate production throughout North America and make production competitive with Asia and Europe, and have noted the increase in auto production over the past two decades with the deal in place. They have warned that changing NAFTA too much could prompt some companies to move production out of the United States. The chief executives of General Motors Co, Ford Motor Co, Fiat Chrysler, along with senior U.S. executives from Toyota Motor Corp, Volkswagen AG, Hyundai Motor Co, Nissan Motor Co, Honda Motor Co , BMW AG and Daimler AG met with Trump, as did the chief executives of two auto trade groups. Major automakers reiterated this week they do not support freezing fuel efficiency requirements but said they want new flexibility and rule changes to address lower gasoline prices and the shift in U.S. consumer preferences to bigger, less fuel-efficient vehicles.
