1951 Ford F1 Original V8 Flathead & Vermillion Red, 0 Miles Since Frame-off - Nr on 2040-cars

Year:1951 Mileage:64721

Houston, Texas, United States

Houston, Texas, United States

Yes, this is the real deal...
This is the rare show truck you have been seeking for years, with a low starting bid and no reserve.

64,721 Miles - Strongly believed to be actual!

Very Low starting price and NO RESERVE.
NOTE: We hate to have to to this; but the tire-kickers, low-ballers, bottom-feeders, and other undeveloped lifeforms are brutal. If you do not have cash, permission from your spouse, and a healthy respect for how crazy-low the starting price is, please do not bother wasting either of our time. If there are not any real buyers paying attention on ebay, I'll just take it to Barrett-Jackson in the fall with my other cars, where it will go BIG. If you have a Buyitnow offer above the opening bid amount (before there is an opening bid); we will consider it.
To be fair, we will be very reluctant to pull it down once there is an opening bid.  So... the best way to get it is to bid early.

1951 Ford F1 Original/Matching number V8 Flathead with correct Vermillion Red in base/clear
0 miles since complete Frame-off restoration.

Laser straight with best-of-show paint job.  We were able to find the formula for the Vermillion Red on the trim tag and it is correct.

Flathead V-8 runs smoothly and starts quickly. Battery relocated from subfloor to firewall

Very rare long-wrap rear bumper.
Grille teeth were painted the correct silver/gray
Bumpers and running boards correct gloss black

New Interior and Carpet, New chrome on hood, Glass is clear and excellent.

Replaced the entire 6v wiring harness to match factory

New wood with 7 coats of clear (top & bottom).

Tires are in great shape

Obviously it is an AS-IS 63 year old truck
Clear Texas title and 5-year Classic registration to drive today
It can go straight from the transport truck to the car show next weekend in your town.

We have a few local dealers sniffing around, so we reserve the right to end early, but they do not move very fast.
I have great respect for real buyers & sellers on fleabay, but emails from low-ballers and the illiterate will not be answered.

Ford Transit production fires up, American Pickers among first takers

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

Not long ago, the History Channel showed a seemingly unending stream of World War II documentaries, but it made a switch a few years ago to include an increasing mix of 'reality' programming. American Pickers was one of the early attempts at this new formula, with cameras following hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz around the country in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as they tracked down collectibles and "rusty gold" for their Iowa shop, Antique Archeology. The show has since gone on to become one of the channel's most popular programs.
Starting in the new episode airing tonight, the affable hosts will swap their Benz for a 2015 Ford Transit, a nicely timed bit of marketing to coincide with the launch of the model's assembly at the Blue Oval's Kansas City Assembly Plant, which also kicks off this week. Ford is touting 2,000 new jobs created as part of its $1.1-billion investment in the plant.
No strangers to product placement, the guys from American Pickers say their switch away from the Sprinter is because they wanted to balance cargo capacity and fuel economy to make the most of their cross-country jaunts. They opted for the largest Transit available with a long wheelbase, extended body and high roof, giving them 487 cubic feet of cargo room. Hauling power comes from a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel engine with 190 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive. Fittingly, the van wears the same Antique Archaeology logo over white paint as their old Sprinter.

Motor Trend pits Subaru WRX vs. Ford Focus ST

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

The Ford Focus ST has enjoyed a relatively calm, if brief, reign in the world of hot hatches. With nothing else in the class (in the States, at least) but the aging Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru Impreza WRX and the slow-selling Volkswagen Golf R, the Blue Oval's 252-horsepower five door has been the go-to vehicle for those that don't need the high-octane lunacy (and expense) of the rally bred Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Now, though, as the new Subaru WRX (it's not an Impreza anymore, though, neither is it a hatchback...) starts to arrive at dealers, the Focus ST appears to be under threat for the first time. Naturally, Motor Trend is here to figure out which one is the best, with another one of its Head 2 Head videos. Host Jonny Lieberman puts both cars through their paces, going above and beyond, quite literally, at the very end of the video.

Ford tops mid-year ranking of brands in the US

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

YouGov's mid-year Brand Index rankings of America's best perceived brands has been released, and Ford has found its way to the top. The Dearborn, Michigan based manufacturer beat out online shopping giant Amazon, The History Channel, and home improvement superstore Lowe's, to take the top spot.
Ford jumped from sixth overall in 2012 to first for 2013, but those that have been watching these rankings shouldn't be hugely surprised. Ford was rated the best perceived automotive manufacturer by the same organization last year. The Blue Oval's success on the overall brand rankings is made all the more impressive by the complete lack of other automakers on the list.
YouGov (that is, survey respondents) cited Ford's first quarter of 2013 business, which saw an increase in market share and the best earnings recorded in over 10 years. Successfully launching the Focus and Fusion (pictured) and keeping them fresh in the minds of consumers has also contributed to Ford's best overall score.
