1951 Ford F1 Bagged Hot Rod Rat Rod Kustom !!! No Reserve !!! on 2040-cars

Year:1951 Mileage:63000
Location:

Wolfforth, Texas, United States

Wolfforth, Texas, United States

Up for sale is my 1951 ford F-1.

The truck was built by me (and friends) in the last year, and built to be a daily driver, which it has been as well as car show cruiser.  The f-1 does highway speeds (75mph) with the A/C on and radio blasting. The new dolphin gauges keep an eye on everything with out looking out of place, since the dolphin gauges are a factory fit, as is the stereo.  The body is fairly straight, especially for the age of the truck, but not perfect (it is a driver after all, has some chips, scratches and runs).  The paint comes alive in the sun as the pearl catches light in the Hot Rod Flatz blue Daytona pearl.  With the large air bags in the back and drop axle in front the truck drives nice and straight, quietly on radial Coker wide white walls.  This truck has driven all over Texas this season making a 1,600 mile road trip to Lone Star Round Up in Austin  and another to the Rockabilly on the Route in New Mexico, where it won the club pick for the show.  I have had a blast building this truck, and taking it to shows this summer but sadly I need to let this truck go.  I do not have the room at our new house to store another car, and I am bringing home another Cadillac soon.  Truck is listed as is with no warranty expressed or implied, that being said I have tried to list everything that was done to the truck but inevitably I know I have missed something.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

This is a truck that you can fly in and drive home, selling without a reserve so bid to win, because in 7 days this truck will have a new owner

What does it need?

Passenger side window was busted and has been replaced with a laminate piece of glass ( fits well but is not tempered glass) I was planning on ordering the glass so I did not glue in the laminate piece, which makes it tricky to roll down after it’s up.  You can glue in the laminate and be fine but I prefer the tempered glass.  The laminate already has a small chip and is cracking.  I have run cars with windows like this for years, but didn’t want to on this truck.  Window adhesive goes with the truck

Window tracks not installed, but do go with the truck

Inner window felts still need final fitment along with channel (assorted rubbers and new seals come with truck)

Hood latch needs pull cable

Drop spindle caused an alignment issue that took off a lot of the outside tread on the front driver side tire, the tie rod ends have been replaced and new tie rod end drops.  Truck goes straight down the road now and all tires were brand new (just the one tire is eroded on the outside) Truck comes with original straight axle as well

Previous owner removed all but 2 springs in the front, and truck can bottom out if hit bumps hard enough, but does not hit the engine or anything just the bump stop.

No wipers or horn installed

Speedometer is off a few MPH, will need to be re-programmed.  Super simple you just need a measured out mile.

Hood is not in the best shape, but was the best one I could find. May want another hood down the road

Buyer is responsible for all transportation, but this is a truck that you can fly in and drive home.  I will assist with any vehicle transportation arrangements and will provide a parts list for the new owner ( to give part numbers for inner bearings, wheel hubs etc…)

$500 deposit is required within 24 hours and balance to be paid within 7 days .

Ford's simple suit makes you feel like a drunk driver

Tue, Mar 25 2014

We've all heard about the dangers of drunk driving for practically our entire lives. Whether it's from PSAs on TV or lectures in school, no one can claim ignorance of drunk driving being extremely dangerous. However, that doesn't prevent some people from still doing it. Ford is trying to take the safety message directly to young drivers with a special suit that allows them to simulate driving under the influence. It is all part of Ford's Driving Skills for Life program that gives free driving education to young people. The program is meant to "train kids in skills they don't learn in driver's ed," said Kelli Felker, Ford Safety Communications Manager, to Autoblog. The drivers don a few items to impair their senses and make them off-balance to simulate having a few too many drinks and then go out on a closed course with an instructor to see the effects. Felker said that the suit is a new part of the program, and Ford just received the outfit in the US. It will be incorporated into the training here in the late spring or early summer. Scroll down to see the effect it has on drivers in Europe. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.

Ford announces free brake pad offer if customers stop by dealers

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.
"We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts.
Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1.

Pony-car sales war: Mustang vs. Camaro vs. Challenger [UPDATE]

Fri, Jul 3 2015

Update: An earlier version of this story misstated the 2015 Mustang's weight when compared with previous models. Additionally, we have added comments from Chevrolet in the text. The Ford Mustang has blown past the Chevy Camaro as America's best-selling pony car, and in June, it wasn't even close. The 'Stang outsold the Camaro 11,719 to 8,611 cars. The Camaro remained ahead of the Dodge Challenger, which sold 6,845 units. Even though the Camaro did post an 11.5-percent sales improvement in June, the competition is arguably stronger than at anytime since the 1970s muscle-car era. The Mustang's sales leapt a whopping 53.6 percent, while the Challenger saw a gain of 56 percent. Several factors are weighing down Camaro sales, including its lame duck status. Chevy is launching a new generation of the Camaro this year that's more than 200 pounds lighter, offers a new turbo four-cylinder engine option, and has a nicer interior than the outgoing model. Put simply: wait a few months and you can get a better car. It's also unlikely Chevy will jack up the price much, as it's historically kept the Camaro within reach of everyday enthusiasts. While Chevy fans wait in anticipation for their new sports car, Ford and Dodge have downshifted. The new Mustang, which went on sale last year, is faster and more sophisticated than its predecessor. It also offers a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which Ford has credited for the Mustang's recent uptick and makes up 36 percent of the car's sales, Ford analyst Erich Merkle said. View 17 Photos June's performance allowed the Mustang to widen its sales gap with the Camaro this year. Through the first five months, Ford sold 68,290 Mustangs, a 54.4-percent increased compared with 2014. Chevy sold 42,593 Camaros, an 8.7-percent decrease. The Challenger – long the No. 3 pony car in sales volume – has seen its sales surge 41 percent this year to 37,011 units. Spokesman Monte Doran said Chevy expected that 2015 would be a "relatively soft year" for the Camaro. "Mustang is taking advantage of years' worth of pent-up demand for an independent rear suspension," he said. "When Camaro introduced an IRS, in 2009, it helped make us the best-selling performance car in America.
