UP FOR SALE, SUPER NICE VERY STRAIGHT TRUCK, 98% RUST FREE TRUCK WITH JUST A LITTLE REPAIR WHERE THE RUNNING BOARDS BOLT TO THE BACK FENDERS AND A LITTLE ON THE BACK OF THE FENDERS, THESE FENDERS ARE VERY STRAIGHT.THE FLOORS ARE EXCELLENT ALL AROUND AND ARE ORIGINAL WITH NO REPAIRS OR RUST, THE DOORS ARE SMOOTH ON THE UNDERSIDE AND HAS NO RUST, BOTH DOOR VERY NICE. IT HAS NORMAL LITTLE NICKS AND A COUPLE OF SMALL PAINT CRACKS (2 or 3)ON THE EDGES OR SEAMS, NOT BAD AT ALL. OLDER PAINT JOB BUT STILL HAS A VERY NICE SHINE. ORIGINAL GOOD RUNNING 239 V8 FLATHEAD,MOTOR HAS SOME WORK DONE TO IT. 3/4 ISKY CAM, 550 HOLLY 4 BARREL CARB, LIFFTERS AND A MALLORY DUAL POINT DISTRIBUTOR. THE REAR GEARS WERE CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL 427 TO A 3.73 RATIO AND IS FULL POSI, ALL NEW, NO USED PARTS. IT ALSO HAS A NEW ALUMINUM DRIVE SHAFT, ALUMINUM HEADS, NEW WALKER RADIATOR, AND VERY GOOD DRUM BRAKES ALL AROUND. THE CAB AND FLOORS, AND THE WHOLE FRONT END ARE IN REMARKABLY GOOD CONDITION WITH NO RUST OR RUST REPAIRS. THERE ARE NO RUGS BUT THE FIREWALL AND VINYL UPHOLSTERY INTERIOR IS FINISHED AND INSULATED, THE KICK PANELS ALSO COME WITH THE TRUCK , vinyl kick panels match the black interior, not shown), AS SHOWN IN THE LAST PICTURE. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR HAS A ORIGINAL RARE CLOCK IN IT. THE FLOOR SHIFT KNOB IS ALSO UNIQUE AND RARE, IT'S THE FORD RETUNDA WORLD FAIR KNOB. THE BED IS A NEW AFTER MARKET BED, THE REASON IS BECAUSE THIS TRUCK HAD A FLATBED WHEN IT WAS BORN, AND WAS OWNED BY A FIRE COMPANY. THE 2 BACK FENDERS AND LONG RUNNING BOARDS ALSO HAD TO BE TAKEN FROM ANOTHER TRUCK TO COVERT THIS TRUCK TO A REGULAR PICKUP. THE TRUCK SPENT MOST OF IT'S LIFE INDOORS. NOTHING DOCUMENTED ABOUT BEING A FIRE TRUCK BUT WHO CARES, THIS EXPLAINS WHY THE TRUCK IS SO FREE OF RUST. THE 2 BACK FENDERS AND RUNNING BOARDS ARE NOT AFTER MARKET PARTS.
THE 3 SPEED TRANNY SHIFTS VERY GOOD BUT DOES POP OUT OF SECOND ONCE IN AWHILE, NOT REAL BAD, ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION DRAIN PLUG LEAKS A LITTLE, TRANNY DRAIN PLUG THREADS ARE REAL GOOD, MUST HAVE GOTTEN A BAD AFTER MARKET PLUG, I WILL PROBABLY GET ANOTHER PLUG BEFORE THE TRUCK GETS SOLD. THE GAUGES WERE DISCONECTED WHEN THE REAR WAS PUT IN, NEEDS TO BE RECALIBRATED BECAUSE OF THE REAR RATIO. NOTE: THIS TRUCK HAS NEW DEEP DISH WHEELS, 15 X 8" POWDER COATED WHEELS WITH CHROME V-8 DOG DISHES AND BEAUTY RINGS. (The pictures that show the underside of the truck still has the old wheels on yet.) I HAVE THE MIRROR FOR THE RIGHT SIDE BUT IT'S NOT INSTALLED. THE TRUCK HAS NO HEATER CONNECTED BUT I HAVE A NICE 3 DOOR FORD TYPE HEATER TO GO ALONG WITH THE TRUCK, IT NEEDS TO BE RESTORED BUT IT'S IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. NO MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK, YOU CAN DRIVE IT AS SOON AS YOU GET IT. BEAUTIFUL TRUCK FOR THE MONEY AND LOW RESERVE. YOUR QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME, JUST CALL ME ON MY CELL OR EMAIL. CELL 484-336 0045 THANKS FOR VIEWING MY TRUCK.

Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman
Mon, 11 Nov 2013If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.
Watch "The One With The Ford Mustang 5.0 Police Car" (yes, we caught the Friends reference too) below to see some shenanigans in one of Michigan's finest patrol cars.
Ford Escort returns, just not for US
Sat, 19 Apr 2014Ford is set to give the burgeoning Chinese market its very own C-segment model, while also reviving one of the brand's more notable nameplates. The new Escort, which will make its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show will be built in the People's Republic at the Changan Ford joint venture facility.
The Escort's exterior is best thought of as a mix of the finer points from the US market Focus and Fusion, with the Aston Martin-ish grille and narrow, wraparound taillights presenting a clean look at either end of the car. It's all fairly true to the concept car from last year's Shanghai Motor Show. That said, this exterior job is almost too clean. There doesn't seem to be a lot of character or substance beyond the typical Ford looks.
There's a similar issue in the cabin - it all looks pretty nice, but the design is rather plain, particularly when viewed alongside the display-filled cabin of a US-spec car. Still, there looks to be a fair amount of space in both the front and back seats, and the trunk isn't exactly tiny, either.
Verizon buys Telogis in connected vehicle market push
Wed, Jun 22 2016(Note/disclaimer: We are owned by Verizon, by way of AOL. This gives us no inside track whatsoever when it comes to news.) With a lot of tech companies and automakers staking their claims in the connected car space, now there are signs that others are looking to move in, too. Today, telecoms giant Verizon announced that it is acquiring Telogis, a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for mobile workforces, and specifically telematics, compliance and navigation software used by Ford, Volvo, GM and other car companies, as well as Apple and AT&T. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although we'll try to find out. Considering that Verizon in 2015 reported full-year revenues of $131.6 billion, the price would have to be very high to be considered "material" and may not be made public for some time, if ever. Telogis in its time as a startup raised a substantial amount of money, just over $126 million in all, including $93 million in 2013, supposedly ahead of an IPO, all from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Back in 2013 when KPCB made its investment (which was the first from a VC firm in the company), Telogis told TechCrunch it was profitable and forecasting revenues of $100 million annually for the year. It's not clear what size those revenues are now, but if it was on the same growth trajectory as before the funding, sales would be around $150 million annually, with profitability, at the moment. Other investors include some very notable strategics: the investment arm of General Motors, and Fontinalis Partners, which also invests in Lyft and was co-founded by Bill Ford, the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company. Before the acquisition, Verizon actually had a business in fleet management and telematics; in fact, the two companies competed against each other for business from the trucking and other industries. Verizon Telematics, as the business is called, is active in 40 countries. But in a way, Verizon buying Telogis is a sign that the latter may have proved to be the more superior, and the one with the key customer deals.
