Yes, that is correct, this truck has a Hemi engine!!

                                         and it runs AWESOME!!

Selling for a friend, this great pickup. Truck has a 331 Hemi motor that fits beautifully and runs like a champ. Unbelievable power, will burn the tires if that is your desire. Mature elder man owned for many years until my friend bought it but family issues forces sale at this time. Body is quite solid with no rust showing. There have been some patches on the floor that were welded in and some small spots of bondo that could easily be fixed if desired. Paint is driver quality. Tranny is a 3 speed with a newer Dana 44 rear end. All gauges work, including fuel. Horn, lights etc., all in working order. Brakes are great, will stop on a dime. Original interior is in good shape but headliner is a bit worn but that is a very inexpensive item. Bed is solid and tires are not showing any problems, driver quality. Exhaust will need to be done but again, a very easy and inexpensive fix.

This truck is a very solid, great running truck that could be a driver with a weekend worth of tinkering. No major needs, just exhaust and a good going through. Previous owner drove it over the Catskills with no issues but I would not suggest trying to drive it home since it has been sitting a while. You will not be disappointed with the performance of the motor. Simply put, a great old truck.

Being sold with a Bill of Sale and a current transferable NY registration, since NY does not issue titles for vehicles of this age. Please note there is NOTHING I can do about this fact, so check with your DMV before bidding to verify their conditions, but I have seen no problems in the past with it. If you have less than 10 POSITIVE feedbacks, please contact me PRIOR to bidding or I will cancel your bids as I have no time for scammers who ruin auctions. I am being as honest and up front as possible and desire the same from the new buyer, so please play games elsewhere. Truck is for sale locally so we reserve the right to end the auction early. Feel free to make an offer if you choose.

If you are looking for a great running, solid truck then this is for you.
Do the math;
any rust free 51 Ford pickup is easily worth                $7,000  (check past auctions)
any good running Hemi motor is worth                         $2,500
a proper installation of motor etc., would easily fetch $1,500.
                                                                                total  $11,500,
so we are realistic in our pricing. Please feel free to ask any questions and we will answer them all. If you like a phone conversation, send over a number and I will pass it on to my friend. Thanks for viewing the auction and good luck bidding on this vintage classic. Restore to perfection or drive as is. Not a rat rod and not perfect but great fun!! Mopar guys will be in Heaven!!

Detroit automakers gain market share simultaneously for first time in 20 years

Wed, 01 May 2013

While monthly sales figures might be an easy way of tracking the progression of the auto industry and individual automakers, looking at market share might be more indicative of how each company is actually standing up against its competitors. For the Detroit Three automakers, they have collectively lost almost 30 percent of the market over the last 20 years, but now, for the first time since 1993, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have each posted market share gains at the same time.
According to Automotive News, Ford's share increased the most by 0.7 percent, GM was up 0.5 percent and Chrysler rose marginally by 0.2 percent, giving the Detroit automakers a total market share of 45.6 percent. As for the Japan's Big Three, the article reports that Toyota is up by 0.7 percent, Nissan is down the same amount and Honda has seen "little change."

Ford gives police chiefs tech to surveil officers in their own cars

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Police officers certainly have a difficult job in keeping the streets safe, but as public employees in positions of authority, there is still a very real need for oversight. To that end, Ford is partnering with a tech company to offer a new system called Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement on its line of Police Interceptor patrol vehicles that could make cops safer, while giving cities a better idea of what its officers are doing.
The system streams live data about cruisers back to the home base to people like the police chief or shift supervisor. That info includes expected things like speed, location and cornering acceleration, but it gets incredibly granular as well, with records of things like if emergency lights are on, or even if an officer is wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement "ought to protect officers as much as it protects the public," said Ford spokesperson Chris Terry to Autoblog. Constantly monitoring patrol cars offers cities a lot of advantages, too. First, it reduces potential liability because a department can prove where each vehicle is at all times. Also, officers know they are being watched and may potentially drive more safely.

Ford to revisit CVTs?

Thu, Dec 11 2014

Today, Ford wishes its first experience with non-hybrid continuously variable transmissions was far behind it. The Blue Oval was awash in complaints and a couple of class-action lawsuits over the CVTs used in its 2005-2007 Ford Freestyle, Five Hundred and Mercury Montego models, which were a manufactured in Batavia, Ohio as part of a joint venture with ZF. The company gave up on the CVT after just two years, but with fuel economy standards pressing automakers to conjure new tricks, Ford's global product development head, Raj Nair, is now saying the transmissions might make a return, "particularly in the low torque applications," says Automotive News. An obvious candidate for CVT consideration is the 1.0-liter Fiesta that can presently only be had with a five-speed manual. Beyond that, the company's 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines might fit the bill. Ford hasn't given any indication as to what vehicles it might use to reintroduce the CVT to the US market, or hints about timeline or who would develop it, however. Some CVT trivia: The 1990 Subaru Justy II was the first US passenger car offered with a continuously variable transmission - Subaru called it the ECVT. It handled gearing duties for a 1.2-liter, inline three-cylinder engine that got all of 70 horsepower. A contemporary blurb about the car begins with "Goodness, gracious, great gobs of gimmickry," and goes on to say that "We can't imagine where you would take this car for repairs, but we are certain that the one mechanic in the world who can fix it lives in a very expensive house." The transmission didn't win any fans, but the ECVT and the car have been largely forgotten, while Subaru played the long game and now you'll find its vastly improved Lineartronic CVT on six of the eight models it sells.
