Very low reserve Here's a 51 ford f-1 with 48 front end.  I picked this up as unfinished project, which is how I'm selling it,  I was told by previous 10 yr owner that has a 1977 ford rebuilt 460 with cam, auto c-6 trans gone through by local trans shop.  The motor and trans starts drives shifts down the road, motor sounds good with no smoke, has a new HEI dist. and a New Aluminum race radiator keeps engine nice and cool no overheating.  I would put a electric fan on it and take mech fan off, as it sits above the radiator, could get hand caught if not careful and would cool and look better.  The engine sat for a spell so has old gas in it I would change feul filter and put new gas in it. Also does'nt have a choke so you have to pump gas to start. I would put a manual choke on to help with that.  Has a 89 s-10 front end with all wheel disc brakes powersteering and power brakes all works well and feels like it goes down the road straight.  Did'nt take over 55 mph.  Frame has been boxed in the rear, welds look abit sloppy but not too awful, its solid.  Has adjustable air bags in the rear.  The truck has had body work done in the past, and will need finished.  Has new Aluminum fuel cell mounted in rear.  No Tailgate Bed was custom made and a nice job.  Running boards are custom made look nice but will need bolted better to truck.  Has a homemade dual exhaust.  Has wheels adapters put on so ford wheels would fit on it.  I Believe it wheel run chevy wheels when those are taken off.  Tires are in good shape. Have the rear Glass and DS glass is ther but broken, PS glass and mechinism is gone.  Having a new windshield made, it will be included in the sale.  The doors shut ok but you have to shut the DS door hard for it to latch tight.  Seast are Bolted down and sets at a good hieght to drive.  Has new Dolpin Guages that seem to work , speedo works, The wiring for radio lights and radio will need finished, and the tailgights are just sitting in place not bolted in.  Not sure what lights work and which ones if any do.  Radio does'nt power up.  Does'nt have a key start, just flip a switch and push button starter.  The truck is drivable shifts good, needs a few odds and ends but would make a sweet Big Block truck when complete, or a sweet Ratrod, made to your liking, Comes with a clear open title in previous owners name.  The hood is just sitting on truck, it is in rough shape , not sure if it can be repaired or not, I will secure it for transport eight in bed of truck or on truck. May consider trade or buy now offer. Buying this as-is Please ask questions before bidding.  500 deposit 24 hrs after auction final in 5 days certified funds.  Pick in 30 days in Kingsville ohio 44048  Right off I-90

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.

Ford offering factory-spec EcoBoost reflashes that don't void warranty*

Sat, Dec 27 2014

Buy a supercharger or cold-air kit from Ford Racing and a Performance Calibration handset comes with it to reset the ECU for the upgrade. Now Ford Racing is offering the ProCal handset a la carte for $595, allowing you to reflash the ECU on your EcoBoost-equipped ride to extract more of its inherent capabilities without any additional upgrades. It gives you control of variables such as throttle response, idle speed and turbo wastegate control, among others. As for that warranty asterisk, the press release says enthusiasts can up the power "while maintaining the Ford-backed limited warranty." However Ford Motor Co. and Ford Racing are separate entities, and, best we can tell, when you reflash the ECU, your Ford warranty gets supplanted by the Ford Racing warranty. Say you bought a 2014 Ford, that means your five-year, 60,000-mile warranty becomes Ford Racing's three-year, 36,000-mile warranty, if we're reading the fine print correctly. If you have an older car and have driven more than 36,000 miles, then your warranty options are kaput, at least as far as a Ford in-house option. If have warranty concerns, you might also want to consider having a dealer perform the reflash, or at least ask about it. Once you've got past the small print, what about the numbers? At the moment Ford Racing offers tunes for the 2.0-liter EcoBoost in the Focus ST and the 1.6-liter EcoBoost in the Fiesta ST, and we're told there's a 90-pound-foot boost in torque at the crank after you've pressed the right buttons. Anecdotal evidence from a commenter at Road & Track says he went from 252 horsepower at the flywheel to 254 hp at the wheels, and 272 lb-ft at the flywheel to 354 lb-ft at the wheels, but we can't be sure that his adjustments were within Ford Racing specs. Your mileage, naturally, may vary. What about custom numbers for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the 2015 Ford Mustang? They aren't ready yet, but we're told we'll get something by the end of next year. 1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.
