1950 Ford F2 Truck on 2040-cars

This is a Ford 1950 F2 Original . The electrical system is all original 6 volt . The truck has a new battery and was just completely rewired from the starter to the turn signals all the lights front to rear work . Also the Brakes have been completely redone from the brake shoes to the master cylinder and brake lines. She's old but she stills cranks. The custom stake steel bed was made for this truck by the previous owner in the late 90's . It will need a new gas tank because the previous one rusted out. Everything else is good. The floor is not rusted thru and the doors shut and latch Extremely well without slamming. It could use a fresh paint job and that's about it. I have a transport trailer and would be happy to work out transporting the truck if need be FOR A SEPERATE CHARGE , SHIPPING IS NOT FREE NOR INCLUDED. I do not accept paypal . This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.

Sun, 20 Jan 2013Despite some truly impassioned pleading from Jay Leno himself - including calling on Arizona's notoriously Republican-rich voters to beat the $600,000 level set the last time Leno sold a vehicle for this particular charity... in California - bidding for George Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck stalled at $300,000.
All proceeds will be sent to the Fisher House Foundation, so at least it's $300K going to a good cause. Feel free to check out the live image gallery above, which includes shots showing Leno's skills helming the auction, and read through the official auction description below.
