1950 FORD F1 PICKUP WITH GREAT PATINA. NON-MOLESTED BODY AND FRAME.
THE ORIGINAL ENGINE, TRANNY AND REAR END ARE IN THE TRUCK. TRUCK ROLLS EASILY BUT I'M BETTING THE ENGINE IS LOCKED UP AS IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR MANY YEARS. TRANNY SEEMS TO SHIFT GOOD. WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN, DOORS OPEN AND SHUT, HOOD AND HINGES WORK AS THEY SHOULD BUT NEED SOME OIL TO SMOOTH IT UP A LITTLE. THIS IS A GREAT BUILDER TRUCK OR LEAVE THE BODY AS IS FOR AN AWESOME "PATINA" TRUCK. IT'LL NEED FLOOR PANS FOR SURE BUT THE EXTERIOR LOOKS GREAT AS IT IS. BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT BUT HAS THE USUAL RUST IN THE USUAL PLACES. EVERYTHING IS THERE EXCEPT THE TAILGATE. I HAVE A CLEAN TEXAS TITLE IN HAND. FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.
