1950 FORD F1 V8 FLATHEAD 3 SPEED MANUAL WITH 373 GEAR REAREND. THIS TRUCK WAS RESTORED IN 1997 BY MR. PAGANS , BUT HE SOON PASSED AWAY. IT WAS GIVEN TO HIS SON IN 1997 AND PARKED IN HIS GARAGE. OVER THE LAST 16 YEARS HE PUT 2000 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND BASICALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM HIM AND PUT A NEW ALUMINUM 3 CORE RADIATOR ON IT, NEW SPARK PLUGS, WIRES, DISTRIBUTOR PARTS, FUEL PUMP, BATTERY, ALL WHEEL CYLINDERS, SOME BRAKE LINES, BOTH THERMOSTATS , AND ONE MANIFOLD GASKET. THIS IS NOT A SHOW TRUCK THERE ARE SOME FLAWS OM THE 16 YEAR OLD PAINT JOB. THIS TRUCK HARDLY HAS ANY RUST AT ALL. THERE IS A SMALL AMOUNT IN THE FRONT FENDERS AND SOME ON BACK FENDER. I DONT THINK ALL TOGETHER THEY ARE AS BIG AS MY HAND. I DROVE THIS TRUCK ALL WEEKEND AND ALL GAUGES FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE SPEEDO DOES NOT WORK , BUT I PLAN ON ADDRESSING THAT ISSUE BUT NO PROMISES. IT TRACKS PERFECT, STOPS GREAT AND STARTS EVERY TIME. IT HAS VACUUM WIPERS THAT WORK BUT ARE WEAK. IT HAS A MODERN CD PLAYER AND SPEAKERS (UNDER SEAT). THE INTERIOR LOOKS GREAT AND WINDOWS ROLL DOWN WITH TWO FINGERS. THEY ARE THAT EASY. THE UNDERNEATH OF THIS TRUCK IS SOLID WITH NO RUST EXCEPT TWO FENDER BRACES THAT EASILY REMOVE AND YOU CAN REPLACE FOR LESS THAN 50 DOLLARS. THE DOORS OPEN PERFECT AND SHUT FLAWLESSLY. ALL THE GLASS IS PERFECT EXCEPT FOR WINDSHIELD THAT WAS CRACKED IN 97 WHEN INSTALLED. THIS IS TRULY A RARE BARN FIND THAT I HAVE DONE ALL THE MECHANICAL WORK AND IT RUNS GREAT. THE TIRES STILL HAVE KNOBBIES ON THE SIDE AND THIS TRUCK CLEANS UP WELL. WHEN MR. PAGANS SON WAS WILLED THIS CAR IN 97 HE WENT AND BOUGHT A CHEAP TENT TYPE NYLON CARPORT THAT THE WIND BLEW INTO THE TRUCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SCRATCHED THE PAINT. THE SON PUT PRIMER OVER SCRATCHES TO ENSURE THEY DID NOT RUST. THE BED WOOD IS A 6 OUT OF A TEN BUT COULD USE SANDING DOWN AND NEW VARNISH. IT HAS TRUE DUAL EXHAUST COMING OUT OF THE REAR. IF YOU ARE SEEKING A GREAT DRIVER THIS IS IT. ITS NOT SHOW QUALITY BUT IT IS ONE OF THE MOST SOLID 50 FORDS I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. DONT MISS THIS THE RESERVE IS LOW. I DONT DISCLOSE MY RESERVE SO PLEASE DONT ASK. IF YOU WANT IT MAKE AN OFFER OR BID. IF YOU HAVE 0 OR LOW FEEDBACK DO NOT BID UNTIL YOU CONTACT ME. I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID IF YOU DONT. IF YOU HAVE TO BORROW WIFES CHECKBOOK OR GET WIFES APPROVAL (OR HUSBAND) DONT BID..... WHO EVER WINS THIS TRUCK WILL BE HAPPY AND HAVE A NICE 50 MODEL F1. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL CHRIS AT 540-493-6568. I DO HAVE A CLEAR VIRGINIA TITLE DATED 1997 FROM MR. PAGANS SON. THIS AUCTION IS FOR CASH NO TRADES, NO BOATS, NO MOTORCYCLES JUST GOOD OLE CASH. THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK.

Ford cuts F-150 fuel use through CNG-capable fleet sales, EcoBoost
Tue, May 13 2014The possibility of $1-a-gallon fuel would make a lot of US governmental entities sit up and take notice. The state of Oklahoma and the city of Dallas are making that happen. Those two entities are buying up a bunch of Ford F-150 pickups retrofitted to run on compressed natural gas (CNG), all in the name of cost savings and emissions reduction. Oklahoma is buying 256 of the F-150s, while Dallas is buying another 65. The trucks, which cost between $6,000 and $9,500 to retrofit (on top of the original price), can run on either CNG or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). And while that's a substantial hit, conversion costs are typically paid back in three years thanks to lower refueling costs. CNG prices are as low as $1.07 a gallon in parts of Oklahoma. How much lower? The national average price for CNG is about a buck and a half less than the $3.67 average per-gallon cost of gasoline. And CNG prices are as low as $1.07 a gallon in parts of Oklahoma, where CNG is plentiful. CNG also cuts tailpipe greenhouse gas emissions by about 20 percent compared with gasoline, while the retrofitted trucks can go as far as 450 miles from their CNG tanks in addition to the 300-mile range from their conventional tanks. That's useful in a bit state like Texas. This week, the US Energy Department trumpeted a $5.9-billion loan program that Ford accessed to upgrade its factories for production of its EcoBoost engines, noting that Ford has sold a half-million F-150 trucks with EcoBoost engines. Those trucks have collectively cut fuel use by almost 57 million gallons of gas during the past three-plus years. Check out Ford's press release on the F-150 purchases below and the Energy Department's statement about its loan program here. OKLAHOMA, DALLAS ORDER 300-PLUS CNG-CAPABLE FORD F-150 PICKUPS AS DEMAND GROWS FOR ALTERNATIVE FUEL OPTION The state of Oklahoma and its agencies to buy 256 Ford F-150 trucks prepped to run on compressed natural gas; Dallas orders 65 for its fleet 2014 F-150 available with gaseous-fuel prep option on 3.7-liter V6 engine; can run on CNG or liquefied petroleum gas (also called propane autogas) By summer, Ford will offer eight vehicles that can run on clean-burning, affordable CNG; the company is on track to sell more than 15,000 such vehicles in 2014 The state of Oklahoma, its agencies and the city of Dallas have ordered a total of 321 Ford F-150 pickups that can run on compressed natural gas.
Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. You can check out Consumer Reports entire reliability roundup, even without a subscription, here.
Autoblog's June 2019 Editors' Picks
Wed, Jul 10 2019Each year we review, test and rate hundreds of brand-new cars, trucks and SUVs. We rate these vehicles using the Autoblog score, giving a select few our Editors’ Pick. Here are the best cars we drove in June 2019. 2019 BMW 8 Series Everyone on the Autoblog staff loves a good grand tourer, so we were excited to get behind the wheel of the revived BMW 8 Series, specifically an M850i Coupe. A good GT needs to be as fast as it is stylish and comfortable, and the new 8 Series delivers. We particularly like the 523-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8Â’s copious power and smooth ride quality, even on MichiganÂ’s pockmarked post-winter roads. We dig the interior design, too, though not everyone was in love with the exterior. ItÂ’s not the best-handling car in its class, and doesnÂ’t hide its sizable proportions very well, but itÂ’s still worth a look if youÂ’re looking for a big, fast cruiser. 2019 Ford Expedition Crossovers may be the hottest vehicles on the market, but thereÂ’s still a sizable demand for traditional body-on-frame SUVs like the Ford Expedition. These behemoths offer plenty of space in addition to truck-like capability. We like the Expedition's smooth ride, powerful twin-turbo V6 and sharp exterior design, though the interior can feel a bit cheap, especially on some of the more expensive trims. Adding options quickly puts it into Lincoln Navigator territory, and itÂ’s hard to recommend the Ford over the Lincoln when the latter packs the same capability into a far nicer package. Still, the Expedition is as good or better than the competition in most respects, and thatÂ’s why itÂ’s one of our picks. 2019 Toyota 86 Few cars at any price point are as much fun as the Toyota 86 (and its twin, the Subaru BRZ). We like the 86Â’s balanced chassis and sharp steering, and while itÂ’s not as nimble as its close rival the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the ToyotaÂ’s back seat and trunk make it a more usable vehicle. But while we like the 86Â’s driving position, the rest of the interior feels cheap and dated, especially the infotainment system. We complained about the anemic powertrain back in 2012, and itÂ’s only gotten worse as the years have gone by.
