Massillon, Ohio, United States

1949 Ford F-1 Pickup with Clear Virginia Title. The Truck has rust in the Bed and Fenders, but the Cab is very solid and rust free. I am posting pictures of the Cab Floor to show that the Carpet is not hiding any rust issues. The Truck has good Glass. Most of the Glass is new. The Glass in the Passenger Vent Window is cracked. The Window Felts, Seals and Anti-Rattle parts are new. The Doors open and close well. I am posting pictures of the Cab Corners and Door Bottoms to show their condition. The Truck's entire Brake System has been replaced. This includes: Master Cylinder, Wheel Cylinders, Hard Lines and Brake Hoses. The Truck has been converted to 12 Volts. The Starter has been rebuilt, the Generator has been rebuilt and converted to 12 Volts. There are lots of new parts on the Truck including Fuel Pump, Fuel Lines, Fuel Filter, Points, Spark Plugs, Condensor, Cap, Rotor, Motor Mounts and more. The Engine has been started, but still needs a few things. Engine still needs the hard line from the Carburetor to the Distributor Advance, the Linkage between the Firewall Linkage and the Manifold Swivel and the Linkage between the Manifold Swivel and the Carburetor. The Engine starts, but will need these parts and probably more before being a driver. The Truck is wired and will turn over with a turn of the key and a push of the starter button. The Headlights, Tail Lights and Brake Lights are wired. The Seat is stock and old. It looks good, but is not perfect. There is a sheet of plywood in the Bed. There is no Tail Gate. The Rear Bumper is large and probably not an original Ford unit. It was on the Truck when I got it. I do not know where it came from. The Truck has an attractive look and a nice Patina effect. The Wheels are Chrome and in good condition, not mint condition. The Tires are old but look good and hold air. I have not had any issues with them, but you might want to replace them before doing any serious driving. The Truck cannot be driven home, buy I may be able to assist with delivery within a few hundred miles of Canton, Ohio. This Truck is being listed with a low start price and no reserve. It will sell to the highest bidder. Please look closely at the pictures. They are part of the listing. I will try to answer any questions through email.

Ford looks to protect logo from Toronto mayor followers

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

One is a member of the Detroit Three and the maker of the Mustang, Fusion, Explorer and F-150. The other is an admitted loudmouthed, drunk-driving, crack-smoking mayor in Canada. Unfortunately for one, it shares its name with the other. Yes, Ford Motor Company is going to great lengths to keep its iconic Blue Oval logo from being appropriated by supporters of besieged Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
At a United Way event earlier this week, some of Mayor Ford's fans showed up with shirts that featured the automaker's logo with the words "Ford Nation," on them. Naturally, Mayor Ford signed them. FoMoCo was quick to issue an unhappy statement:
"Ford did not grant permission for use of its logo. We view it as an unauthorized use of our trademark and have asked it to be stopped," spokesperson Jay Cooney said. There was also a statement from Ford of Canada's Twitter account after a user alerted the company:

Ford recalls 434k vehicles for several unrelated issues

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

It seems that the hard winter in much of the country has been as rough on some Fords as it has on many people. The Blue Oval is recalling roughly 434,000 vehicles in two separate recalls, and one of them partially caused by the salt used to melt the snow on roads.
The first recall covers 385,750 2001-2004 Escape models in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada because a subframe could rust and eventually fail. This is partially due to the road salt used in those areas, and about 349,000 of the affected vehicles are in the US. To remedy the problem, dealers are installing a reinforcement cross brace on the frame to strengthen them. There has been one crash caused by the failure but no injuries. According to The Detroit News, this is not the first rust-related recall for Ford. It estimates the company has repaired over two million vehicles since 2010 for problems on vehicles related to the iron oxide, including the rear wheel wells of the Freestar minivan.
The second recall covers 48,950 2013-2014 Ford Fusion, Escape, C-MAX and Lincoln MKZ models because welds in their seatbacks don't meet National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards. The fault affects the front seats, and the sub-standard welds joining the setback to the recliner could increase the chance on injury. There have been no reported injuries or accidents caused by the problem, but there are 42,972 affected vehicles in the US and 4,744 in Canada.

Ford Focus ST, Fiesta ST buyers to get free Octane Academy driving school

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

The Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST have created plenty of excitement in the sport compact segment, and Ford is looking to make sure that owners are driving and enjoying their cars to the best of their abilities. As an added bonus for buying one of these sporty hatchbacks, Ford will provide a complimentary ST Octane Academy session to be held at the Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
Attendees will be responsible for travel and lodging, but Ford will provide the driving school free of charge. Included in this two-day trip, ST owners will get class instruction and driving instruction in prepped Focus ST and Fiesta ST models on the track and autocross course. Some karting action will also be involved as will a tour of Ken Block's Hoonigan Racing headquarters located nearby. If this doesn't sound like enough fun, there is also an optional day of activities that includes some more track time in a Mustang GT and off-road instruction in an F-150 SVT Raptor.
Ford told us that those who have already purchased a Focus ST or Fiesta ST will still be able to attend the performance driving school, but the press release, which is posted below, makes it sound like it applies to original owners only. Ford has yet to announce its schedule for the ST Octane Academy or prices for additional activities or guests.
