Offered for auction is one 1948 Ford F5 model Truck with cab, fenders and hood on two ton frame.  It does not have engine or trans.  These cabs will likely interchange with 1948, 1949, 1950 and perhaps '51 and '52 cabs.

The F5 has been in the family since the 1950s and is very low mileage and virtually rust free (cab, floorboards, etc, with minor surface rust)
The F3 one ton is also very nearly rust free, except in the base of the box and the floor of the box itself.

It has dents and the dash of the F5 was modified to accept a later radio many years ago.

No attempt has been made to crank the flathead engine and so no assertions regarding it can be made, except that it is intact and accessories are present.

It is a candidates for restoration, perhaps with other parts. It would greatly help an otherwise good running truck that needed a solid cab.

Cab has broken glass and dents.  The hood of the F5 is probably damaged beyond anything but a major rehab.

I have a title - for the F5, and will supply "AS IS" Bill of Sale for all parts (both identified trucks)

I will also accommodate the dismantling of the F5 if the buyer wants only the sheet metal parts (for a fixed additional cost we can discuss and agree upon ahead of time.)

The Pluses:

* You might see on the surface of the two cabs but it is just that, a thin layer of easily removable surface rust.

* It is a Montana vehicle, for at least the past 40 years.  As such, much of the corrosion and rust issues of other regional cars is not there.

*  Some of the flat glass may need replacing, but then that is no problem.

* There is a clear title in my hot little hand.

The frame,  rocker panels and underbelly appear to be very solid.  The trucks appear to have never been wrecked or substantively repaired.  There is no visible bondo or other filler anywhere.

The Negatives:

* There is isolated rust.  floor pans seem very solid, indeed.

* There are a couple of the flat glass windows which are cracked - easily replaceable just about anywhere.

* There are a number of minor dents and the F5 hood, espceially, is pretty dinged.

* The interior is largely complete.  Some of the nobs and handles are missing.

* It needs all the standard attention any unrestored 60 odd-year old trucks would likely need.

This is an awesome project package or very nice replacement cabs for rolling stock you may have.

**********

Please look at the pictures and let me know if you need more.  I would be happy to respond to individual issues and questions.

This is an actual AUCTION.  I do have a very low reserve on the vehicles, but it is half what one might expect for this model in this condition.  Bid to win!

Buyer is responsible for transportation of the car from my doorstep, but I will assist in any way I can.

A deposit of $500 is expected within 24 hours of the end of the auction via PayPal unless arranged otherwise in advance.  The entire balance is due with PayPal, cash or bank wire within 14 days of the end of the auction.

The vehicles do not leave until funds are cleared and personal and cashier’s checks are not OK.

You MAY leave the trucks, once paid for, here until July 8, 2013, giving you an opportunity to come get the car as part of a vacation to MONTANA.  See Glacier Park, just 85 miles away (and leave the trailer here for when you are ready to load up and go home), tour through Yellowstone coming or going; visit the Lewis and Clark Trail or float the most scenic parts of the Upper Missouri River.  Come, Play, and take a new project away when you head home.

Please look at my many years of 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK and BID WITH CONFIDENCE.  I have bought several cars and hundreds of car parts on Ebay over the years and will certainly try to treat you the way I'd like to be treated

I can be reached at 406 4 six 6 two 644.  Thank you for your time and interest!

Ford recalling 390,000 cars over door latch woes

Fri, Apr 24 2015

Ford is recalling certain Fiesta, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles due to faulty door latches, marking the latest in what seems to be a recurring issue for the Blue Oval. This is the third door latch recall from Ford in 2015, following a 213,000-unit recall in March and a 205,000-unit recall in January. This one, however, is significantly larger. A total of 390,000 units are affected, including Fusions and MKZs from model years 2013 and 2014, as well as Fiestas from model years 2012 to 2014. A "broken pawl spring tab" is the culprit, potentially keeping doors from latching shut. According to Ford, even if the door does shut, it could come open again without warning. The affected Fiestas were built between February 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013 at the Cuautitlan, Mexico factory. The Fusion and MKZ siblings, meanwhile, were screwed together at Hermosillo Assembly in Mexico between July 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. Ford is aware of three minor reports of door malfunctions. In two cases, the door bounced back open, quite literally hitting drivers on their way out. In the third case, a door swung open of its own accord while a driver was attempting to park, hitting another vehicle. Ford will notify owners, who will need to report into dealers to have all four latches replaced. Scroll down for the official press release. Related Video: APR 24, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FOR DOOR LATCH ISSUE ON FORD FIESTA AND FUSION, LINCOLN MKZ Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 390,000 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta and 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles for a door latch issue. The door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a customer is then able to latch the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it, and one accident allegation when an unlatched door swung open and struck an adjacent vehicle as the driver was pulling into a parking space. Affected vehicles include certain 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta vehicles built at Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Feb.

Ford Escort testing, may be bound for Europe

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

There has been little news about Ford's China-focused Escort concept since debuting at last year's Shanghai Motor Show, but the no-frills sedan has shown its camouflaged face again during cold weather testing in Northern Sweden. While far from a guarantee, the test location might hint that the Blue Oval plans to market the car outside of Asia.
The Escort's black robe and zebra paint make it hard to tell if anything specific has changed about the design, but the shape of the sedan looks close to what was shown in Shanghai. Under the disguise, you can still make out the hexagonal front grille from the concept. When Ford announced the model, the company said that the design wasn't supposed to be "arrogant or pretentious," and it certainly achieved that. The engine range is still a mystery, but it seems safe to expect small, economy-focused powertrains.
A report from last year indicated that Ford may be considering broadening the new Escort beyond Asia and possibly even selling it in Europe. The fact that the company brought it to Sweden for testing could bolster that argument. A release date hasn't been set yet, but the automaker has promised 15 new products for China by 2015. The basic sedan could be on the road soon.

2015 Ford Mustang GT Line-Lock Burnout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

In this brief Short Cut, Autoblog's Steven Ewing demonstrates Line-Lock on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Accessed through an on-screen performance menu, the feature temporarily locks the front brakes to help you heat up the rear tires for better traction, as you would for drag racing. The result? A 15-second smokescreen.
