1947 1-1/2 ton , manual trans with 2 speed axle, flathead V-8. Originally a tow truck, has no bed on it , but the controls are still there. The good: truck is pretty solid for the year and the doors alone have hardly any rust or dents, and the door bottoms are usually rotted right off, original seat and fuel tank location , has the 2 speed axle with controls and original data plate is still intact in the dash/ glove box, the papers are clear and the originals for the truck, all glass is there, cab mounts are not rotted, have fenders, hood, hood latch, straight grill and inserts which is hard to find, pretty solid start.
The bad: lower rear area of front fenders have light rust, 1 has a few quarter size holes, but straight not all dented up, one rear drum has been broken due to the previous owner hitting with a hammer to un freeze, but the truck does roll fine, the motor is pretty much intact , but frozen, has been sitting since the late 70's last time on road was 1974, a mose decided to make a nest in the headliner and constant urine rotted the windshield valance a little, but the frame is fine.
Other than that, this is a nice barn find, been sitting quite some time, could be and easy and solid start. I got this truck as part of a package deal, so my reserve is low, basically need the room for other projects.

Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track

Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. And this being the GT model, it's not packing the V6 or the turbo four, but the red-blooded 5.0-liter V8 that tells us and enthusiasts worldwide that the new Mustang has not lost its way.
