1946 Ford Truck, Pickup, F100, Rat Rod Project, No Reserve on 2040-cars
Georgetown, Kentucky, United States
Up for auction is my 1946 Ford "rat rod" pickup. This truck was purchased by me in June 2013 and it was my intention to upgrade the truck to my taste as I owned it. Unfortunately a few weeks after my purchase my wife and I decided to separate. Our divorce is now final so it's time to move it out of the garage and to let someone else enjoy it. When I purchased the truck it was running and driving. The motor was a mildly built 355 Chevy and the transmission was a Saginaw 4-speed mated to a Hurst ram rod shifter. Since July I have already sold the motor, transmission, shifter, radiator, and drive line. These items will not be included in this auction. What is included is as follows. A 1946 Ford pickup cab and bed. Both have a really nice patina that just gives this truck a badass look. Doors are included but the hinges have been cut off. Rust is present, as with any truck of this nature, but previous owner has made attempts to replace panels where necessary, mainly in the cab floor. Bed does not currently have a floor in it but it is mounted to the frame as is the cab. Frame is made from a 1930 model A Ford that has been z'd in the rear and has also had a new front end and brake kit from Speedway Motors installed. This kit alone retails for $950.00 and to find out more info on what is included in the kit here is a link to the item on Speedway Motors. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Ford-Wilwood-Front-Brake-and-Steering-Kits-48-Inch-Axle,36236.html Also up front is a set of fiction shocks and a vega steering box. Frame has been freshly painted and shows no sign of abuse and the Small Block Chevy motor mounts are still present. Front grille also looks good as well as the front headlamps. Rear end is a 8.5 10 bolt from a S-10 with 3.54 gears installed, rear brakes are drum. Rear wheels are 15x10 Cragar with Firestone Drag Slicks. Electric fuel pump is present but both fuel and brake lines have been removed. All wiring from the truck has been removed because I was going to replace it with a kit from Painless Wiring that I bought from Speedway Motors. I have since then returned this item. Interior is bare bones to say the least. All glass and gauges have been removed. New seat sliders have been ordered but not installed. Waiting for the new owner to decide his desired mounting location. Steering column and steering wheel are both present with the steering wheel having a quick disconnect feature. Clutch, brake, and gas pedals are included but have not been reinstalled at this time. This truck will roll and steer but you will need to provide at least a 15 inch set of Chevy bolt pattern wheels in order to be able to load it onto a trailer. This truck originally came with spindle mount front wheels which explains why I spent $1000.00 to put disk brakes on it. Truck will need completing. Most items that are installed are mocked up on the truck, so it would be in your best interest to check torque before final assembly on all bolts. I'm sure I'm forgetting some items so I would highly recommend anyone truly interested at this truck to view it before the auction ends. Anything else I can think of or find laying around that goes with this truck will be included in the auction. This is a rat rod and a project on top of that. So do not compare it to your wife's Camry or expect it to be flawless. Work and money will be needed to complete it. All sales are final, with no warranty expressed or implied. Bid with confidence because I pride myself on my 100% feedback that I've been able to maintain for the last seven years. This truck comes with a clear Indiana title. Where my wife filed for divorce so soon after I bought the truck I never bothered putting it in my name. Title has been signed by the previous owner, just waiting on whoever new buys it to add their name to it. Prefer local pickup but shipping must be arraigned at the buyers expense. Truck will not leave my possession until all funds have cleared. No exceptions. $250.00 non refundable deposit due immediately at auction end, balance to be paid in full within 7 days. This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid to win! F.Y.I. Included at the end of the picture gallery is what the truck looked like when I got it and to show the potential it has. |

Ford Focus was best-selling nameplate in 2012
Tue, 09 Apr 2013Last August, Ford made a few waves by claiming that the Ford Focus was, at that point, the top-selling car in the world. The automaker failed to account for variations of the Toyota Corolla wearing a different name (such as the Auris and Matrix), however. With official data from Polk coming in now, Ford is able to say that the Focus was, in fact, the best-selling nameplate in the world last year.
Using new-car registrations (which doesn't factor in fleet sales), the Polk data shows that a total of more than one million Focus models around the world. Strong sales in the US and China have led to a 16 percent increase in year-over-year Focus sales from 2011 that helped to create even more of a gap between it and the second-best global seller, the Corolla.
Ford also had the Fiesta and F-Series listed in the top 10 for worldwide nameplates, but what's even more impressive is the fact that the F-Series is only sold in North America. Scroll down to see the list (compiled by Ford using Polk data) of the top global sellers last year and a press release from Ford.
Ford F-150 EcoBoost in NHTSA probe for acceleration issue
Tue, 28 May 2013According to Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a probe into 400,000 Ford F-150 models over possible acceleration problems. According to the article, NHTSA has received 95 reports "alleging incidents of reduced engine power during hard accelerations" on 2011 to 2013 F-150 models equipped with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
Automotive News reports that Ford has issued three technical service bulletins "related to intermittent stumble/misfire on acceleration from highway cruise in humid or damp conditions," according to the government agency's documents. About one third of the 95 reports NHTSA has received cited humid or rainy conditions when these problems allegedly occurred.
These technical service bulletins have allowed dealers to address a "condition related to moisture accumulation in the charge air cooler during extended highway cruising at constant throttle in humid or damp conditions," AN reports, citing NHTSA documents. Furthermore, the TSB outlines details for "reprogramming the powertrain control module with the latest calibration and installing a new CAC and air deflector plate."
Ford's Mulally makes shortlist for Microsoft CEO
Fri, 08 Nov 2013Ford CEO Alan Mulally has made the short list to take over tech giant Microsoft, lending further credence to rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would ditch Dearborn and move to Redmond.
The report comes from Reuters, which claims that alongside Mulally, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and three candidates from within Microsoft are on the short list to succeed Steve Ballmer at the company's helm, although previous reports claim the Ford exec is the number one candidate. Mulally is currently working without a contract, although Bill Ford seems to believe that he isn't likely to depart. Despite this belief, Ford was quoted just last month talking about the depth of talent on the Blue Oval's executive team.
"There is no change from what we announced last November. Alan remains fully focused on continuing to make progress on our One Ford plan. We do not engage in speculation," said Ford spokesman Jay Cooney.
