1942 Ford Truck, Disc Brakes, Air Bags, Suicide Doors, Custom, Rat Rod,project on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Up for auction is a awesome PROJECT... 1942 Ford 1/2 ton truck, and it was a former military truck.. a true WW2 vehicle. The truck has been chopped 3"inches, and channeled 3" inches. The truck was running and driving prior to me buying the truck, and it had a 351W and a C4 trans set up in the truck. The truck has air bags in the rear, and a Ford 9" rear end. The tank is a 65 Mustang tank, with a electric fuel pump. The truck has all the wiring in place, minus the heads lights. The wiring is all brand new, and it is wired up for 1950 Pontiac tail lights in the rear. The doors are suicide doors that have been shaved. The doors have the automatic lock poppers that are wired up and do work. Inside the cab she was set up for a set of 65-70 Mustang seats, and the heater is wired up and works. The wipers are installed and they do work. The gauges are all above the drivers side windshield, they all work and are new. I have a dash bezel with a working speedo for the dash. I also have the original glove box door for the truck also. I have a clear title in hand, and the truck will be sold to the HIGHEST bidder..... NO RESERVE!!! Under the hood the truck has 1969 Ford Mustang front clip, with disc brakes. All new suspension up front, new bushings, new ball joints, new springs, new tie rods, and all new brake lines front to rear. The under the hood wiring is all new, and if you drop in a motor and trans your up and running with a turn key truck. Basically what you see is what you get with this truck, NO motor/ trans or seats are included. I have a few small parts that go with the truck, like window templates, turn signals bezels, windshield chrome that separate the windshield into 2 parts. The truck needs work to finish it... it has had a lot of work completed but, it's a PROJECT.. This is a VERY RARE truck. The wheels and tires that are shown on the truck are not included in the sale. It will have a set of rollers on it when it is picked up. The truck is a PROJECT type truck! The winning bidder is required to pay a $1000 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the truck! The truck is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 3 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The truck must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!! |

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
2018 Ford Expedition vs other big SUVs: How it compares on paper
Fri, Nov 10 2017With our Alex Kierstein rightly impressed in his first-drive review of the new 2018 Ford Expedition, we decided to dig a little deeper into the numbers, and we came up with the spreadsheet below to highlight how the new 2018 Expedition compares on paper to its main full-size SUV competitors: the 2018 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban (and therefore the 2018 GMC Yukon), 2018 Toyota Sequoia and 2018 Nissan Armada. We also threw in the new, even bigger 2018 Chevrolet Traverse since, as you'll see, its massive dimensions should put it on the radar for anyone who needs loads of passenger and cargo space but doesn't care as much about towing. A few notes about the chart above. First, the 6.2-liter V8 that's included with the new-for-2018 Tahoe RST trim level is the standard engine on the GMC Yukon Denali. You can apply most of the Tahoe's numbers to the entire Yukon and Yukon XL lineup. Second, though we highlighted categories where the Traverse led, we also highlighted the runner-up full-size SUV, since this was ultimately about that segment. Traverse numbers are broadly applicable to the new Buick Enclave. Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores
Tue, 29 Apr 2014The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
