This 1/2 ton pickup has less than 100 miles on the new build.

Extremely nice fenders and sheet metal on the entire truck. Has a new metal bed with plywood base with powder coated skid plate with stainless strips. Also stake pockets and top rails have been capped. New tail-gate. The truck has been chopped 2" with the back window left the original size. New burgandy roll and pleat leather interior. Mercedes-style gray carpet. New tires and 5-spoke polished Halabrand wheels. Fresh 1979 Chrysler 360 motor and transmission. Has 8" Ford rear end, Mustang II front end with rack and pinion steering and disc brakes. Also has a power booster on brakes. Tilt GM steering column, vintage heat and air, Kenwood stereo, new bumpers, new Drake headlight rings. The truck is Folkstone gray. Stainless steel exhaust, deeper stainless steel gas tank. Gas fill is located under license plate. Hood has been filled and peaked. Has new tinted glass and rubber seals.

The man who built this truck has built several nice street rods here in Wichita.

2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo

The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.

J Mays' legacy

Mays is by far not the first designer to use heritage design cues in his work.
The announcement that J Mays will be leaving his chief creative officer role at Ford Motor Company on January 1 ends a 13-year run in one of the industry's top design roles. While best known for having a hand in reborn classics like the Volkswagen New Beetle, Ford Mustang and Thunderbird (above), Mays' legacy is more complicated and nuanced than being considered the father of what is known as "retrofuturism".
