I DID GET IT RUNNING BY PUTTING GAS IN CARBURATOR, IT FIRED RIGHT UP AND SMOOTHED OUT GOOD, NO KNOCKS OR RATTLES, JUST A EXHAUST LEAK
THE STARTER OR SILINOID HAS SINCE QUIT WORKING,,ONLY CLICKS NOW, PROBABLY EASY FIX BUT I'M NOT DOING IT
DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION CONDITION, I THINK IT WILL BE OK, BUT I DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO DRIVE IT
THE GLASS IS ALL GOOD NO NICKS OR CRACKS AND THE INTERIOR LOOKS GOOD BUT VERY DIRTY
TIRES ARE JUNK BUT HOLD AIR SO IT CAN BE MOVED AROUND OR TOWED
IT HAS SURFACE RUST AND A COUPLE MINOR DINGS, DON'T SEE MUCH OF ANYTHING RUSTED THROUGH
I HAVE IGNITION KEY AND TRUNK,DOOR KEY
I DON'T SEE ANY PARTS MISSING AND BELIEVE IT IS THE WAY IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY, NO BATTERY
THIS IS A GREAT PROJECT CAR AND HAS GOOD POTENTIAL FOR A RESTORATION PROJECT

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die
Tue, 20 Aug 2013When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.
Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown
Fri, 10 Jan 2014You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]
Fri, 12 Apr 2013The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.
Scroll down for a press release about the Russian Explorer as well as a video (bad music and all) showing the SUV being produced in Tatarstan.
