This is a True Texas car. Has been in storage since 1997. Car was restored as a driver sometime before then. Motor had been rebuilt and new paint somewhere prior to 1997. Car still looks good and runs good. When I first got it I had to basically replace everything that took fluid. The following has been done in last year....New gas tank, new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor, New radiator and new water pump and most hoses, power steering rack and reservoir, New power brake booster and master cylinder ,new brakes and wheel cylinders. new clutch....also has new vintage air/heat assembly brand new and never been charged yet (heat does) Its R34 so pretty easy to charge. Inside the car has new front carpet, new door panels and armrest, new dash,,,,seats, headliner are the factory original I think. They are old, showing some where but plenty good for daily driving and good shape. Instrument cluster and dash trim is yellowed and old but I have all new stuff in the boxes and go with car. Also have new roof rail rubber and maybe other stuff. Interior lights work, all gauges in dash  work like they should, rear dome lights, and even the radio (but has no antennae....no hole for one?) Outside it has a GT hood with working turn signals, new front bumper, new emblems on fenders. Paint looks really nice for nearly 20 years old...has one round paint blemish on cowl pass about size of half dollar...few chips here and there. Rear bumper original. Silver with pewter racing stripes. All turn signals, park lights and brake lights work...wipers work and horn when it wants too. Tires look new but are old and need balanced or replaced. Cragar old school mags. Car has the factory 289....it has heat plugs so has been rebuilt at some time. It runs good and dont smoke or get hot. Trans is borg warner 4 spd and shifts perfect with factory shifter. Has 2.79 hywy gears. Underneath is clean and looks good with normal wear. Body looks good and not wavy and dont think ever wrecked. Inside quarters look good and no bodywork showing anywhere. I bought to make a Shelby clone but everyone yells at me to not screw up this car because its a nice survivor. I drive around here and it fires up instantly and is a fun car.....I would drive it anywhere ( maybe tires if a long ways) Car would make a Shelby GT350 or BULLIT car real easy. This one is nice because has all pwr accessories .   CAR IS 45 YEARS OLD SO NO WARRANTY....AS IS.....CAR IS FOR SALE LOCAL AND WILL PULL AD IF SOLD ....IF RESERVE MET IT RUNS TILL SOLD ON HERE. $500 NON REFUNABLE DEPOSIT TO COVER LISTING. I CAN DELIVER IF NOT TOO FAR AWAY AND CAR IS PAID FOR FIRST.....AMERICAN BANK WIRE TRANSFER OR CASH ONLY.....NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS. FUNDS HAVE TO CLEAR BEFORE CAR LEAVES PERIOD !!!!  CALL ANY QUESTIONS 682 459 3078 ...THANKS AND GOOD LUCK

I had someone ask me the color and I guessed teal by looking under some rubber, I got a Mart Report and the color is Brittany Blue (Q code )which also explains the blue steering wheel cover. It was built Dec 7th 1967 . 4 speed and other stuff is correct. Had a guy wanted to trade in his Mustang and went to see it. I would take a nice builder in trade.....but I do not want a car wrecked or all the parts lost.....a hull is not worth $10,000 to me. I have a nice 1965 GT350 Shelby so not hard up on Mustangs. If you have a nice 65-68 FASTBACK ONLY that is complete .....I dont care about motor, trans, metal or chrome.....seats and interior must be 100% there and not busted. I might take a convertible 67/68.......I still want to build a Shelby GT 500. My phone is listed...feel free to call about car. Also car has a clear Texas blue Title.

I have a standing offer if the car does not sell.....I have lowered the buy it now and reserve price to reflect this. Most mustangs on here are basket cases requiring thousands of work or high end cars requiring thousands more to buy. This car is a nice unmolested basically original car in a medium price range for a 1968 fastback.

Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going

Tue, 13 May 2014

Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.

Next SVT Mustang may axe Shelby name, go naturally aspirated

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Following our first glimpse at the 2015 Ford Mustang out on the road, the fine folks at Road and Track have divulged some details on what the Blue Oval's next pony might have in store. We've already seen that the car will get some very sleek, Evos-inspired design cues, and an independent rear suspension is indeed in store. These new details, however, concern the muscle car's beating heart.
For starters, the base Ford coupe is expected to carry on with V6 power, likely from the same 3.7-liter unit found in today's car. From there, R&T says the next step up will be a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, likely displacing 2.3 liters, putting out as much as 350 horsepower. Of course, a Mustang wouldn't be a Mustang without V8 thrust, and R&T states that the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 will continue on into the 2015 car, making something like 450 horsepower.
But it's at the high end of the Mustang range where things will, reportedly, get very, very interesting. Road & Track claims that the top-shelf 'Stang will likely lose the supercharger from its engine, producing a metric crap-ton of naturally aspirated grunt instead. Additionally, the SVT-fettled Mustang will likely be dropping its Shelby moniker, in favor of "a name you're familiar with," according to the magazine (you know, like, Cobra).

Can an actual Ford F-150 ride on 4 Power Wheels F-150s?

Tue, Dec 9 2014

A lot of kids are rough on their toys, especially when it comes to those made to be used outside, like a four-wheeled kid-size Power Wheels. Whether it's cruising through the sand box, carrying piles of rocks in the driveway or crashing around trees in the backyard, these motorized vehicles often take punishment from the moment the giftwrap comes off. The folks at Fisher-Price decided to give their latest F-150 Power Wheels a true torture test worse than any kid could have ever managed by setting a real 2015 Ford F-150 on top of four of them. Would the little toy trucks explode in a shower of plastic shards in a massive collapse, and if not, could they drive away afterwards? The latest F-150 might be 700 pounds lighter thanks to the switch to aluminum, but it's still a fullsize pickup. According to this clip, the truck weighs in at 4,120 pounds, which puts an average of 1,030 pounds on each of the toys. Check out the video above to see how the stunt goes, and click on the gallery below for some behind-the-scenes looks at the setup.
